Unhappy Spun Soundtrack Appreciation

Damn, Djali Zwan was a fine band. Last brilliant release by b0lliam. Better than Adore and the Machinas (fight me). What a waste.

Great material, but I think it was the first time that I realized "man, his voice is really starting to lose it's luster". This would be the first we'd hear the what I call "The Zeitgeist delivery".

But the material is so good that it doesn't matter.

you just saw the movie for the first time, right - what's your favorite track?

Revolve is in my all-time top 10 (of SP plus Zwan plus Corgan, all of it)

sorry fuzzy but billy's voice sounds superb on this

pavetune i think there are songs on adoor (to shelia duh) that are way better, but as a whole this release is better. my fav is freedom ain't what it used to be, but i thought there was singing in it. was it a b-side for something else, maybe?

(untroo fan alert)

Anything from the Zwan vault will be great. No information has been given regarding what a Zwan box set would be like. Will each song be given as much attention as each song on MSOTS or are these unfinished demos? Will the volume and mastering differ from MSOTS? The greatest and one of the only times when the expectations are so high if you’re a fan of unreleased live Zwan songs.

So I was outta the loop for a bit there when this whole thing went down - did it eventually leak? Because this thing never got commercially released, right?

Some amazing stuff in there.

3rd song on Honestly CD single following Number of the Beast.

Freedom is one of the best songs he's ever written.

Meh, i might of gotten a little carried away. Love is a Battlefield blows and so does Jesus, I. The rest is pretty swell. Can't compare to Adore, though.

You can see the whole movie at the moment on YouTube:

With Rourke's cooking show trailer:

And a song from Swedish singer Paola, not visible if you don't be registered:

freedom ain't what it used to be is one of those songs that's so good, you hear it and are sure you've known it all your life. like it must be a cover of an old standard. turns out it's just bill with a damn fine song.
as for the film, all i remember is laughing for days at his doctor act with the line "that's gotta hurt".

I was completely stoned out of my mind the first time I saw this movie so of course it felt like the greatest piece of art I ever witnessed. It's still pretty good sober.

Knowing Billy, he'll probably make it sound like shit on purpose and blame it on needing to "compete" with other bands on the market*

*Which is why MSOTS was mixed and mastered like shit to begin with

I honestly believe Zwan could have been the Wings to the Pumpkins' Beatles. I didn't want fucking SP2.

Freedom appears around 1:25:30 into the film.

Freedom Ain't What It Used To Be appears around 17:15

I think it's ironic that Billy appeared in a film with Mickey Rourke (about speed no less) after D'arcy said she was gonna be an actress. I wonder if that was conscious.

Mickey Rourke's pussy speech uncensored.
In the posted full movie you get tinnitus by howling noises instead...

Conscious of Mickey Rourke, after they parted and she became friend of her later fiancé, Wendell Green?
Mickey called D’arcy a damaged person like him, not mentioning her name. And that he felt sorry, to have left his wife and love of his life Carrie Otis for her:

Jonas Åkerlund had already worked with the Pumpkins on their music videos „Try Try Try“ and „Everlasting Gaze“.
He also took the opportunity to do a short film “Try” when filming the video.

So it came natural that Corgan wrote the soundtrack for the following first movie of Åkerlund and got a little cameo.

D’arcy told later that Wendell had sabotaged her movie career, even held her at home for several days, against her will. He had a bipolar disorder and hang himself in July 2009. She mentioned it in her radio call in 2009.
Slash from Guns'n'Roses was an earlier friend of Wendell and made a short statement about his death on his Facebook site:
https://www.facebook.com/Slash/posts/99134347438

"I just found out a good friend, Wendell Green just passed away, tragic news."

I was never able to find a better rip of the soundtrack than the one from thepumpkins.net. Good stuff though, deserves a proper release from b'arcy
