I think Obama is doing fine for the most part. As best as could be expected considering he inherited one of the biggest messes in American history.

That excuse is pretty tired already. Say its too soon to see if its working or not, thats at least more or less the truth. He ran as the best person to handle one of the biggest messes in history, boo-freaking-hoo. Hes already endorsed and expanded some of W's worst moves, and those were inherited too.

If Obama reversed himself on the stuff Ive posted in this thread (willingly), passed single payer or shelved healthcare reform until its done right, kept his word on DADT at least, and managed to pull the economy out I would have no problem voting for him in '12. Basically the HOPE/CHANGE he ran as. Hell throw in some investigations into Bush and Id name my first child Barack, even if it was a girl.
Safe bet it'll be Aaron instead. Probably not if its a girl. |

I dont blame you, its easier to simply say Im a bitter Clinton supporter than to try and justify the things I complain about. Its such a crazy notion too, a candidate keeping his promises. A bit strange too, since if my devotion to Hill were that strong, wouldnt I be greatful to Obama for ressurecting her and saving her from being cast aside as the old failed model? I mean this is you're logic not mine, so if you could explain that it'd be helpful.
Or maybe you could explain your view "I think Obama is doing fine for the most part." when his economic moves are in limbo, and he's basically running and adding onto the Bush playbook for National Security. But either way, chew on this. Lets say I am just bitter. That says nothing about rightness or wrongness of things, does it? I could be both bitter and right. I could live with that I guess. |

It's also easier to say I "hate Obama" since I voted for the guy and he's gone against everything he promised to do, and passed one of the biggest sham budgets to special interests and pork disguised and named a "stimulus plan."
I'm really starting to wonder too if McCain=Bush wasn't more accurately Obama=Bush. But you know, he smokes and likes Star Trek so we'll overlook all of that. |

Is his budget really much different than anyone expected? No. This isn't fucking Ron Paul. The stimulus plan hasn't even really been enacted yet, so to judge it right now is seemingly idiotic. And if you really think Obama is anything close to Bush, then you're not paying any attention to..... well, anything. FB has legitimate beefs. Maybe you should follow his lead. |

and redbreegull, just shut up. Hill has done an impeccable job as SoS so far, and it's hard to argue that she would be pussyfooting around liberal issues like your main man has done since he was sworn in.

The "to judge it now is idiotic" slant you keep taking is totally off base. It was a spending bill full of pork and pet projects. That in and of itself hurts the economy during a major recession. And I would guess the budget would have been expected to be a lot different by anyone who believed in his campaign speeches about hope, change, and the scalpel on the federal budget during a major economic crisis. |

If I could vote for him, I totally would for just those reasons. 100%
HOWEVER, I do remember there was a pop-culture quiz on EW between McCain and Obama, and McCain kicked his ass, IMHO: Photo 1 | Obama vs. McCain: The Great Presidential Pop-Culture Debate | Photos | EW.com McCain picked President Palmer, how awesome is that? |
