Yeah I totally get that. I'm still holding on to the dream of becoming a Werner Herzog type that makes a living making animated films relatively independently and lives meagerly in an old house somewhere near a place I can see live jazz.

They're celebrity marriages. How else can one go about mentioning one if not from a strictly superficial level?

That is a good point though. Capitalism does make it hard to justify living among people.

I specifically wrote CSN and not CSNY.

I think this is why I'm drawn to people like George Harrison or Graham Nash. Dudes who are perfectly comfortable sitting on the sidelines, making good songs into better songs, and augmenting the ever-present strong egos, knowing full well they will have a chance to do their own albums, and doing them brilliantly.

I feel like a lot of people (not calling anyone specifically out) on this board, for example, hate "Let it Come Down" simply for the fact that it's not a Billy Corgan album. I think it's a pretty good parallel for understated solid albums made by side-players in famous ego-driven bands.

Don't take anything I say to heart though. When it comes to Beatles material, I'm a Yoko fan.

It's hard because I really value good human interaction. Like the kind you get when you have the chance to discuss interesting ideas in a meaningful way with someone else that's into it. But I feel like so little of the interaction I experience is like that, even when it's with people who share similar interests.

we're all homunculi trapped in our little vessels isolated from each other like cars in traffic. if i want to connect with people, i would have to make myself vulnerable and why would i want to do that

Go watch TMZ or something then man. I was clearly just mentioning that she was hot. That's all one can determine for certain when judging ancient celebrity marriages anyways

I also am less than gainfully employed. I work at an after school program and my job is basically to yell at kids and give them worksheets for a few hours a day. It's not ideal

Are you doing this just for fun? Do you engage in image making/visual art? I could never get into 3D stuff but your excitement about it is making me think maybe I should give it a try

lol I know I was just being stupid.

George did kind of want to contribute more IIRC, but Paul and John bullied him a bit and put him down a lot despite his songs always being really good when they did make it on the albums. Then he released All Things Must Pass which is IMO better than any Beatles album.

you're a smart dude, i'm sure something will come along soon enough. what field/line of work are you pursuing?

as for me, i've been trying to get myself in a better place mentally by focusing on small tasks, one small step at a time. grinding my teeth through it atm to be perfectly honest, but i can't rely on anyone or anything but myself out here, so there's no other way and i'm sick of being incapacitated like this.
