Yes, it wasn't until TBK EP1 that he actually followed through.

So if the DVD is incomplete because of licensing/missing footage, why wouldn't they use other pro-shot footage? Wasn't a San Jose show pro-shot on that tour? I know there's footage from this era that hasn't been seen because it showed up in the Untitled alternate video.

DELUXE BOX SET:
– 5CD +DVD – Physical Tracks: 106, Digital Tracks: 92 – Original album remastered for the first time – 64 bonus tracks of previously unreleased material or alternate versions of Mellon Collie era songs – DVD featuring live show filmed at the Brixton Academy, London (1996) and bonus performances from Rockpalast (1996) – Housed in a 12 x 12 lift-top box with magnetic closure, reimagined cover art and velvet-lined disc holder – 2 books containing personal notes, lyrics, new collage artwork plus a Decoupage kit for creating your own scenes from the Mellon Collie universe. What exactly do they mean when they say "Physical Tracks: 106, Digital Tracks: 92"? Does that mean that there are 106 tracks in the box set but if you digitally download it you only get 92? OR does it mean that the set includes 106 tracks and some magic download code to get an additional 92 digital tracks? If the latter is the case, that's pretty fucking insane... so i doubt it. Anyone? |

I think Amazon will eventually sell it for less than $146 - 30% or 40% off I hope.
The one track I wanted most - Jupiter's Lament full-band - is on it. I'm also very curious about the MIS remix. |

i do find it surprising that they intend to reissue TAFH, though the material is generally of such high quality that it deserved it. interesting to see what they do with it actually. i don't see it being released in the same unique package the original had, maybe as a double CD with the MCIS singles removed, along with PM, with a bonus CD and hopefully another MCIS-era DVD. I just hope the additional tracks don't end up being MCIS Demos I II and III. If they are, it's kinda nice to have a clean/reliable source and all, but still. Meh. And I agree with everyone else, the addition of One and Two and Eye, no sense whatsoever.

Not sure why everyone is so worked up about One and Two. James could have easily demoed it and/or recorded it as a possible MCIS track. It will be interesting to hear one of the songs that he eventually released as a solo track in an earlier Pumpkins form. Although if it ends up just being a solo acoustic demo, without any participation from other members, then I think that will make it less intriguing.

We don't have the answers yet. But maybe Monte does. He got pre-release copies of the bonus disks. See the other thread.

I have a feeling Billy was either wrong when he said he had a demo of it, Billy can't find the demo, or their is something wrong with the Demo. Pretty sure we would have the demo if it was available/useable. Billy has never been one to release stand alone live tracks. In fact this is the only time I can think of him ever doing that. |

It's a high price but it'll definitely come down eventually on amazon. I'm just going to buy the digital version. I'm sure someone will upload the book notes on SPFC eventually anyway. I might pick up the LPs if they don't fuck it up like they did on PI.

No, I'm pretty sure I was thinking of Anaheim. My mistake. All I remembered was talk of a "million dollar camera" back in the amsp days.
