I just started Colbert's I Am America (And So Can You!) again. I like it a lot, it's perfect for a little reading in bed.

Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers - B (Mary Roach)
I thought this was pretty interesting. The last couple of chapters dragged but I would still highly recommend it. Not as morbid or gross as one would assume from the title and the author does a good job of making a joke to lighten things up but still not for the overly sqeamish. |

Stephen King's The Running Man. A-
They showed the movie last night. What the fuck? It's terrible (and not only because of Schwarzenegger). Last edited by Mo : 06-18-2008 at 09:31 AM. |

Breakfast of Champions: C+ The only Vonnegut I read before this was Slaughterhouse Five which changed my life but this was pretty sub-par compared to that. Cool style and tone, but the "plot" totally fell apart at the end.
Mysteries of Pittsburgh: D- What a load of bullshit. 300 pages of people talking like they were in a Kevin Smith movie. Only cool part was that I live in Pittsburgh and knew all the settings. The Idiot: A- I still have about 70 pages or so but I can tell it's going to end well. This dude would be the best if he didn't have so many long passages that are completely irrelevant to the main plot. |

Finished Old Man and the Sea. A much better novella than Of Mice and Men, although two completely different books.
I dunno what's next, though. Have to wait to get home and see what's on my shelf. I love covering on the morning shift! Less movies, more books. |

Brave New World sucks.
The Great Gatsby: A+, I read this in high school and was floored by it, but when trying to recap the plot for somebody I realized I couldn't remember it at all, so I read it again. It's even better than I thought. Really just a perfect work of art. |

The Stranger's pretty great too. When we read that in high school everyone said Mersault reminded them of me. =/

i tried to recap the great gatsby for someone a few days ago and i tried, but made it end up sounding boring.
i liked the writing style so much, i immediately went out to half price books and got two of his other novels. |
