i figured you'd respect me enough to know that i'd probably already be aware that there's going to be a mess of underground bands that make up the white stripes i was really talking about 1) popular music and 2) their retroness and 3) fuck fuzzyroses
i mean dean doesn't respect me at all but I'm glad to see him anyway it means he didn't kill himself |

Tried Oceania again this morning and reminded myself why none of the rockers on that album did it for me, despite some redeeming qualities (guitars on The Chimera are pretty great). This song on the other hand I've been listening to a lot and find myself really enjoying it. As many have said it lacks the dynamism and the emotional and lyrical depth of classic Pumpkins, but it has regained some solid footing that's been lost in recent years. Maybe its just that the drumming is much more authoritative (no offence MB, you were great live) or that the vocals are lower in the mix but i enjoy it without trying to and am looking forward to showing others.

after my initial knee-jerk reaction (we-are-so-young-lyrics, vocal style wahwahwah) I actually like it now.
I can enjoy it with a comedy listening approach (same goes for Being Beige.) whoever created this video was thinking in the right direction - it's an entertaining gym soundtrack. I listened to it while working out/doing gymnastics, and suddenly I didn't hear the lyrics that much and noticed more of the instrumentation, which is pretty good |

having you as a party guest must be a memorable experience
the video to Being Beige might be better suited for your purpose |

I keep getting this song's riff stuck in my head. I really like it.

Too lazy to read through the whole thread but has anyone commented on how similar this sounds to The Viper?

yeah
I like how it's been reworked though. I've never liked the original riff. |
