That's odd. C.D. singles seemed to be WAY less in the States than they were in Canada. Stores rarely even carried them here aside from HMV and then later the Virgin Megastore.

Oh the Zero tape was revolutionary. It was an EP but priced as a single, so for a couple bucks you got the first five songs on side A, and Pastichio took up the full side B. So whenever you got bored of a song on A you could flip it and wind up somewhere in the middle of the medley.

I did do my share of taping off the radio, that’s where I got most of my shit for a while, but I did buy an insane amount of rap cassingles. There was no rap radio where I was so it was a choice usually between an $18 cd with one song I wanted, or $2 for the tape.

probably only a hand full of times start to finish, and other than the first time it was only ever probably from being too lazy to skip 'die'. i have no interest in hearing 'die' in full ever again.

but the rest of the medley? hundreds of times in full. used to play along on guitar, knew all the changes.

then i did the "cut up all the bits into separate tracks and put them on shuffle" and it was amazing, like hearing it fresh all over again and not knowing what will come next.

i still listen to lots of snippets of it on shuffle in my music playlists.

i haven't listened in ages but yeah i have an album in itunes that's just the clips. then the versions we have full versions of are replaced with that

never tried the shuffle thing, good idea

i think i tried to play along on drums a couple times back when i first started playing. might try it again. more recently i played the last silverfuck at landover in 2017. is it all in the same tuning for guitar @trev? Eb?

it's been ages since i played along to it, at least a decade, but yeah i think most of it was Eb, some Eb but dropped d style, some might even be in D or lower, or maybe just slowed down so the pitch is lower.

from memory i used to down tune to D or something just so i could play along by transposing up the neck to whatever came on.

with the lock down happening i might give it a shot one of these days. having a jam with others to pastichio medley would be pretty sick i gotta say!

Yes, and I know I'm not the only one who's put together a playlist/folder comprised exclusively of released/leaked full Pastichio tracks

I think the 'imbecile swine' was a mod's reaction to the thread creator who first called it 'pistachio medley'

Dozens of times in the 96-2007? Then T&T upped a separated version which I then listened to and even put it on shuffle like the others. Also, I did make a playlist of all the full versions we have now.

heaps of people have, but i'm curious in case i've missed anything what is the full list so far?

knuckles (mcis reissue)
star song (tafh reissue)
new waver (mcis reissue)
zoom (mcis reissue)
so very sad about us (mcis demos 2)
phang (mcis reissue)
the groover (tafh reissue)
blast (mcis reissue)
the black rider (666)
the viper (666)
depresso (mcis demos 2)
speed (mcis reissue)
feelium (mcis reissue)
weeping willowly (gravity)
rings (tafh reissue)
so so pretty (gravity)
lucky lad (gravity)
jackboot (tafh reissue)
millieu (tafh reissue)
disconnected (tafh, 33 single)
v-8 (666)
die - (xyu, mcis)

there's also some from the leaks that cannot be shared:
in the arms of sheep
envelope woman
the tracer

the spfc tracklist for 666 lists one of the riffs (played 3 times as 3 tracks on the boot) as 'the tracer' but it doesn't sound like either of the 2 pastichio clips. the 666 riff could either be from a different part of the song, or the riff on 666 isn't the tracer.
i haven't heard the newer sheep leak yet so not sure if that gives more clarity on this.

spfc also says this is available in full but doesn't say where?
spazmatazz

and i'm pretty sure dawn at 16 is just a version of cherub rock.

is that it?

the tracks on 666 are not the tracer, and are not rachel. they do not sound the same at all. and there is no recording of rubberman on 666 either that i've heard or found yet? skimmed through it again just now to check, can't hear it.

also in case people didn't realise, the middle part of in the arms of sheep was changed into the middle / ending parts of the last song.

we can agree to disagree about die / xyu / dawn / cherub, and to me different recordings don't make a different song so disconnected is clearly the same song as tafh.
