Why wait for a reissue that he'll just fuck up anyways?

I just downloaded your version and am now finishing the first disc. This is one of the best sequences, narrative wise that I have come across. It leaves me with a much better understanding of the actual story while listening. One thing that sours this ordering is the fact that the songs really have no kinship when coupled this way. They are so disjointed it distorts the listening experience.

That’s the nature of MACHINA though. The only two ways to create a double album from these songs is either by narrative or flow. Either way we are losing one of two paths.

Just my personal view, as I too have spent many hours doing the same reordering. Thanks for putting this out there for us fellow fans.

The narrative is stupid anyway. Most "concept" albums suck.

Having a good flow is far more important to an album.

Thanks for the comments, but I guess in my opinion this flows well enough.

I agree, Slow Dawn and Vanity are some of the best tracks of MACHINA II.

it's not so much that they're best tracks but that theyre important to the story, imo. at least more so than others.

i wonder why they took that drum intro out of sacred and profane ... it sounds alot better

C-tuned rawk songs aside machina 1 sort of seemed to border on adult contemporary. not that there's anything wrong with that, it's one of my favorite albums (with huge caveats). but it seems like something from an artist in his mid-40s or something

been listening to this falling asleep the past couple nights. The only note I have so far would be why doesn't R+S come before White Spyder? It makes more sense and flows better before it IMO.

...
Sacred & Profane
Raindrops/Sunshowers
White Spyder
GATGC

makes more sense to me than

S&P
White Spyder
R+S
GATGC

I mean I'm sure you know what you're doing and all but is it possible this was a mistake?

also i know you worked on the overall sound level of the whole thing and innosense sounds lower and muffled compared to the bombast of the previous and next track

volume discrepancy aside (on the one track) i really like this mix. i've downloaded a few "albums that never were" from your blog and enjoyed every one of them.

This gels quite nicely. The crowd noise for the intro to disc 2 is a nice touch, too. Thanks!

I never really got into the Machina mystery as it was going on. I was kind of hoping it would seem more clear to me in listening to this reordered trackisting with the notes and all, but I think it's just more that I don't care. Did the cartoons tell the story at all?

Oh well, it's a ordering of the songs though, I'm enjoying it well enough even if I don't appreciate all the thought that was put into it.

Oh, but reading the notes, that comment about Adore, "Despite having superior songwriting and inventive arrangements..." Look, I love Adore and appreciate how underrated it is, but the songwriting was not superior to SD and the arrangements were not more inventive than MCIS.
