Default Jimmy Chamberlin Rejoins SP for Tour

http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/m...tour/29157071/

This indeed warrants its own thread.

May the celebration begin.

If Corgan is just calling whomever he's working with at a given time "The Smashing Pumpkins," hopefully versions of that with Chamberlin are frequent. I mean, they can't be all that frequent, what with Chamberlin's company and all, but hopefully it happens more than a couple times.

I guess we all knew it would eventually happen. Maybe poor album sales and overall "meh" reception to new Pumpkins has humbled Billy a bit and he has realized he needs Jimmy.

Either way, really stoked.

do I really want to spend $100 plus ticketmaster fees to see JC open for Manson?

I had decided to skip this tour, but now I feel compelled to once again give bill my time and money

This is truly fucking excellent.

Yeah this Manson stuff is weird goth bullshit and James and D'arcy were 50% of the soul of the band and yeah this might overlegitimatize what's going on now but still HOLY FUCKING SHIT JIMMY'S BACK

That's fucking incredible. I started to get into SP and started to play drums in 2011. Since that time I've grown to revere JC as an incredible drummer, but not until today have I experienced a day where my favorite drummer was in my favorite band.

This is fucking awesome.

Fuck yeah.

Fuck yeah.

Yeah, I don't get why Jimmy doesn't play with better songwriters. For all his time in the music industry, he doesn't appear to have made contacts with good musicians. He could be a guy like Jim White, whose main band was Dirty Three, but who also played with Will Oldham, Bill Callahan, Cat Power, PJ Harvey, etc.

He is going to beat the shit out of Tiberius, in a very jazzy, JC way.

This is gonna be great

I wonder what his setup will be for the tour since he's been playing jazz stuff for a while and now he's endorsed by Sakae drums.

wasn't it the third choice? (or rather last possible option to save the Manson tour)
first Brad Wilk - then this guy

and now JC as last minute savior?
