There is zero chance TSwift is a Democrat. She clearly saw the blow back from Kanye and wanted to be on the right side of history in the eye of the public.

1. apparently you haven't read the thread but thanks for joining us

2. remember two years ago when you were extolling old white feminism and sobbing over what you saw as a transformation into an oppressive, non-egalitarian ideology? hm

I’ve claimed to be intersectional from day 1. I just think it goes too far and there is validity in the visible regression of modern day social justice into social media justice warriors obsessed with labeling themselves as trans-queer-disabled-fluid-unicorn on social media. It belittles the experience of people who actually feel dysphoria or are oppressed due to their sexuality, or disability, or what have you

I’ve studied it and am a published scholar on post colonialism and once again am not going to pick and choose Swift’s problematic public image in regards to empowering young girls with you.

She’s a horrible regressive Republican music industry stooge and yeah she’s hot but she wouldn’t be popular if she wasn’t cute and inoffensive to conservative viewpoints during her country phase and now an edgy “hot” adult in older age

Our disagreements come from the fact that in a pre trump era I was much more of a idealistic moderate. Now I am full left wing democrat.

I still do not subscribe to left wing identity politics

Crazy timing on a post like this, with her breaking her silence and all. Way to put the heat on her, man - you know she's a top secret Netphoria lurker, huge fan since she heard "Panopticon" off of Oceania.

I'm by no means a huge fan of her, but my 4 year old girl sure as hell is, and that somehow makes me a fan. They really are quality pop songs. Just truly infectious audio business. And yeah, sure, with any pop artist the singer usually isn't that involved in the writing, but she's a factor somewhere in there.

Also, at least she's coming out on the correct side of politics, so that's cool.

I love TS and have for a while now, but it's still pretty funny seeing what Aretha had to say about her

She's pretty involved in the process... she has many songs with no co-authors, and she wrote Speak Now entirely by herself. Also if you listen to any of her songs played acoustic, they all pretty much boil down to the same formula she's been honing since she was a teenager. She's not like a Britney Spears, being a songwriter has always been part of her deal

There is also a ton of people claiming that they ghost wrote Speak Now

You sound like a snotty 13-year-old who thinks they're "edgy" by shit talking their 11-year-old sister's fave. Chill out, it's not that serious. Some people like, some people don't like.

Imagine forcing yourself to only like music that fits into a certain box.

That sounds like an awful lot of work to research every song you hear to make sure there are a certain number of writers or certain instruments before you let yourself enjoy it. LMAO

I use the app SoundHound when I hear a good tune and I'm out here liking some of the BEST pop songs.

It’s not hard. If it sounds like the musician gave a shit when making it, I usually like it. I love pop. Kesha, Gaga, and Carly Rae are my pop girls.

Just not T Swift. She has no talent and from the get-go was a manufactured pop artist designed to sell records. Just like Kesha, except she spoke out about it, and now she’s blackballed from the industry.
