those wings look so gooooood. i think i'll suggest we make them with some homemade sauces this weekend. the other day we made waffles and fried chicken strips for dinner, but i'd have eaten it for breakfast, too- everything covered in maple syrup and valentina sauce for dipping.

i know 'brunch' has been around since i was kid, but it seems like a giant trend for twenty-somethings to get 'brunch'. time-wise, when does breakfast end and brunch begin? does anyone know? does the name used depend on one's age or the trendiness of where the meal is eaten?

i've found that brunch generally refers to the meal you eat whenever you roll out of bed with a hangover from night of partying on a weekend. i think most restaurants claim it's from 11-4 but the boozy NYC crowd doesn't get around to it until 2 or so.

Brunch is what you eat on the weekend when you go for a run on an empty stomach in the morning, and meet up later at a cafe with a friend, and you don't plan to eat again until afternoon tea.

ya the lines are full of kids in their 20s still living off their parents. and their concept of "lining up" is "taking up the whole sidewalk in small groups, oblivious to people actually needing to use the sidewalk to walk on."
let's get back to chicken wings.

my workplace booked a whole pub for our office xmas party tomorrow night. and there's gonna be a dress your own wings station

it ruled last year, and i am salivating in anticipation of some hot wings and blue cheese

i love wings when they are deep fried. no batter. crispy as fuck skin. durkee hot sauce, butter. bleu cheese is a must. i wish i wasnt allergic to raw carrots or celery otherwize i'd be all about that too.

so many places ruin wings by battering them or baking them.

fried but not breaded is CRUCIAL! the idea of baked chicken wings is as appealing as mccain french fries baked in the oven.

there's a place in town that has duck wings. i like the idea but i'm not a fan of duck.

i'm not a wing snob. i like them pretty much however they come to me.

and you know what? some of those sauces at buffalo wild wings are pretty fucking good! i should get a bottle of the mango habanero and just put it on everything i eat.

but a well made more traditional buffalo sauce is definitely as good as it gets. i need to find some good ones around here.

Lightly fried, grilled, and then tossed in wing sauce is pretty much as good as food can get, nah mean?

Wow. Do you eat out a lot and live off ramen and sandwiches the rest of the time or something?

my go-to lunch is a bowl of cereal, a cup of yogurt, and an apple or banana or something. dinners, i usually get stuff i can throw in the oven or microwave. luckily trader joe's has some reasonably palatable frozen stuff that isn't too horrendous for you. then i'll have like crackers and peppers with hummus or something. or just some raw spinach with a light dressing.

gets boring but what can you do? i've given easy stuff like chicken breasts and steaks and fish a shot but it's just not worth the effort when cooking for one, imo.

I love cooking for one, but I'm unhealthily obsessed with food. What you eat sounds pretty good actually. Not too bad anyway. I've been eating cereal for lunch this week actually. I'm just so tired and can't face my usual salad.
