Default Blissed and Gone versions

Is the Blissed and Gone version on Judas O actually a Machina-era recording, or is it an Adore Outtake? If it is the latter, than why would it be excluded from the Adore box set?

It was an Adore outtake. Why did he leave it off the box set? Probably so it wouldn't detract from the awesomeness that was "Blissed and Gone (Drone Version)."

Things not on the Adore box:

Original version of Summer with James' vocals
Original Once In A While, Czarina (I think)
Original versions of quite a few things on Judas O (probably why)
TEITBITE
Original versions of Ethers Tragic and Guns Of Love Disastrous
Quite a few things from the Adore Demos like Joy and Satellites

don't forget the original version of Cash Car Star. Who knows if the Matt Walker Reimagining sounds anything like how it used to sound.

but there's 3 versions of the song on the box set already

i have no clue what goes on in bills head but it might have been overkill
plus, the original was already released twice.

Does this count the 2 versions of '17' from the album itself?

Didn't realize there were multiple ways to pronounce the words "blissed" and "gone"

I remember back in the Napster days, there was a version of this song floating around that was incorrectly titled "Blessed and Gone". Maybe that's what Tyler means? In the song, it sounds like Billy could be saying "blessed" or "blissed", so the mistake is understandable.

You know how blessed can be pronounced both blest and bless-ed? I'm not sure if this also applies to blissed but I always thought of it as Bliss-ed and Gone. It sounds better to me

Oh, I see what you mean. Well, he says "blissed" and not "bliss-ed" in the song so...

Fuck me, you're right. I always just assumed it was "the sun has blissed" since that's the song title, lol.

When live recordings of the song first started circulating in early 1997, we all thought the song was called "Need". I am certain my bootleg copy of the Viper Room show I got in early 1998 listed it as "Need" as well. It wasn't until 1998 when Corgan introduced the song by name ("Blissed and Gone" with blissed clearly stated, not blessed ) that we know the actual title.

Blissed and Gone could have replaced any number of Adore tracks. How ya gonna put out an album w Annie Dog anf Shame but leave off Blissed and LMGTWTY.

Billy really is a fuckin' turd.

Coming here to say this, I liked it better in the early days when we all thought it was called Need. My favorite version of this song is definitely the acoustic version from Viper Room. I played that cassette so much.

I like Annie Dog, it was the first track I heard other than Ava Adore before the album came out (downloaded the wav since mp3's weren't a thing yet). But it seems very out of place to me on the album.
