Default lol Mike Byrne is 30

Isnít that wild? It feels like just yesterday he was a shitty 19-year-old gimmick chosen because he was cheap and would make Jimmy jealous but not really.

Also that means im old because I remember the controversy when Mike joined the band. Damn.

That’s a pretty cynical take OP. He was a good drummer, just maybe not the best fit for this band and also at a time when Billy was not coming up with the best material either. Mike seemed like a decent guy.

More than anything, it makes a statement when we have James Iha and Jimmy Chamberlin back in the band, and people have made multiple threads looking back somewhat fondly on Mike Byrne and "Widow Wake My Mind."

It shows that Mike wasn’t really the problem. The music is worse now without him. The more recent tours with Jimmy have been phoned in performances also.

You on a different planet? Hit us up with some songs with JC phoning it in plz.

Also, what do you mean when you say Mike was a "good" drummer. What measure are you using judging his quality?

Saying Mike was good and JC has been lame is verging on delusional.

i agree that it seems mike wasn't the problem. he wasn't a solution either, but none of the blame for the bad music should be laid at his feet. it belongs at old man bill's gold-colored gucci hightops

The live performances (and now new music) are just as boring with JC as they were with MB.

this

I'm not saying Jimmy's playing wasn't better than Mike's and wasn't good. It always is. But the shows were boring and lacking any energy or passion. Chalk that up to being older maybe, but Jimmy seemed like he was going through the motions. He can play these songs on autopilot. The Oceania tour show I saw was better than any of the subsequent 4 shows I've seen with Jimmy.

Jim Chambo is on Cyr/the selection of Cyr tracks we've gotten so far in the the same way the green-screen stand-ins were "in" Guitar Hero

yeah I'm with jimmy drevpile on this one. some of the performances since 2018 have been astounding. phoned in my ass.

i like you house of glass but you're getting predictably cynical about everything i almost wonder if you're playing a character.

wait.. house of GLASS??!? SINE!!!1!!!

also, songs on oceania were good. performances on that record minus the guitar playing really bring it down a few notches. jimmy on that record and we'd probs have had SP's best record since the reformation.
