Neurosis sounds like a hardcore band on DMT having a real bad time

In a good way

Not doom, but Scott Kelly was in a supergroup called Shrinebuilder who had an amazing doom album

Getting real into grindcore other than Pig Destroyer and Napalm Death finally
I don't even know how I slept on Discordance Axis considering they were on Hydra Head at the time where I basically was a Hydra Head Stan/Truther like no other

Oh yeah
Human 2.0 was probably the first grind album I ever heard, it was big on um, the KoRn forums
Well also Agoraphobic Nosebleed's side of Poscher Diaries, that had to be first since it involved CONVERGE
I'm probably into more than I realize, I forget exactly what's classified as grind

enjoy the videos of Agoraphobic Nosebleed playing their first show ever at MDF and Jay Randall just stands up there to the side and let's the other two do all the vocals
What a dick, what a troll, I love it
People are very confused and annoyed in the comments

J Randall used to run the ANB Twitter account until Relapse took it off him cause he was dropping some pretty uncomfortable truths about music industry/scene politics.

Yeah! I really dig it. Ben Koller is the most ridiculous drummer, I'll listen to him on damn near anything.

Looking for recs for metal I'd be into.

The list of metal bands that appeal to me is pretty short. Mostly just doom, like Electric Wizard, Acid King, Om, EyeHateGod, etc.

I dunno, sometimes I try to listen to other doom/stoner/sludge bands. The intro starts, and I'm like "bretty güd." Then the vocals start and I'm like "nope."

As for other subgenres, death metal does nothing for me. I find black metal annoying and grating. Pretty much the only black metal bands I can listen to are those shoegazey ones, like Alcest. Things like thrash and speed are kind of boring to me because I'm just like "all I can hear is that they are going really fast and doing that djent-djent palm-muting thing a lot."

But when I find metal I like, I tend to really dig it. Just hard to find those Goldilocks bands.

Melvins, Deftones, The Sword, Kylesa, Baroness, Jesu, Boris, Isis

No groundbreaking recommendations here but easy stuff

Boris is great, I like Melvins, The Sword and Jesu a little bit.

I've never checked out the other ones, though. Thanks.
