I didn't mind the costumes. Not to mention they were a lot better live during this era.

Everyone wants me to make "Siamese Dream" again, which equated in my mind to a bunch of loud guitars, with that as a transition into a new era. It was like "Indiana Jones" Part 3. You play to an expectation.

it's a little weird for me to finally see him say this

this might be the single biggest flaw in his songwriting process for the last decade and just seeing him acknowledge it is at least refreshing

Both are equally ridiculous. But I suppose that's a part of The Flaming Lips' image and encapsulates the sound of the band itsef. In contrast, I don't get that vibe from Smashing Pumpkins, they don't sound like a dress-band.

But then again, I thought their Adore-era garb was fucking retarded. Except for D'Arcy's nips, that's was OK by me.
