i got my therapy appt day confused last week and took the opportunity to stop at staples in the same building. this was the day after christmas and a man stocking pens noticed i had a desk planner and let me know he was just about to stock some fancy $30+ pens for 50 cents. i only took two ballpoint pens (one for myself and one for tim) and two stylus pens that are also writing pens (one for myself and one for tim). i also bought a pack of pens for 50 cents.

i left wishing i had been the person who just buys them all. but i did get some things to get me excited for school and i haven't even opened the fancy pens because i am waiting for classes. this also sparked my wanting to purchase a journal and stick to writing in it.

i found a beautiful journal that was $34 but didn't feel i deserved or needed one so expensive when i haven't proven that i will dutifully write in a journal. i settled for a $8 journal and we'll see how that goes.

so i guess i am going to write more
and i want to develop my spanish fluency (with meetups, listening to music, reading books, whatever)
and i want to spend more time studying outside the home (i think it will help with concentration and that whole time management thing i'm working on)- the harold washington library has study rooms you can rent, and i don't know how i never thought of that

As I mentioned in b0lly's thread, gonna do my best to save as much money as possible and also do more reading.

Will probably continue to cut down on my drinking which dovetails nicely with the "save money" thing. Right now, I drink just once a week (usually Friday nights).

I'm not big on resolutions either but by this time next year it would be cool if I

have a better job
have my own place
have spent more time writing and playing guitar and less surfing the internet

and I would like to take a trip at some point this year for as cheap as possible, because I think I'm going stir crazy from being stuck in MD for so long. Might try to and go to Oregon this summer

I'm planning a trip to Vienna in june/july. My uncle lives there and has been inviting me to go visit for ages.
Hopefully it pans out this year.
