C'mon bruh. Link us up.
To me the Pumpkin pinnacle is like the first 4 or so songs on MCIS. Christ. |

First minute of Cherub Rock
This is why I am paying attention to this thread. To share my opinion and discuss. Yes. |

Twas the period after the release of MCIS. Creatively and Popularity wise anyway. Virgin took a chance on a double-disk and when it became the best-selling studio double of all-time, they got carte blanche. It all blew up in New York on the tour of course, but from the initial and lasting sales to that point, they were arguably the biggest band in ze world that short time.

Seriously? After the last 15 years of Billy's shitty output, THAT sounds terrible to you?
Vintage Pumpkins in full on exploration mode. That moment when they first kick the fuzz pedals and Billy lets out one of his classic banshee screams is pure sex. |

Musically I kind of agree, it's like Jimmy's jam.
But the intention is not the same... |

Was there really a link? PM me too please!
Pinnacle of SP for me was the 1996 VMA performance. They were probably the biggest band in the world at the time. It's absolutely mind-blowing and depressing how irrelevant Billy has become. |

They're both great for different reasons...SD version is a great, badass riff with a drum part to match. MCIS version is more varied, dynamic, free, and has great moments. They're barely even the same song minus the first couple of lyrics
