Most of Texas is moving forward with reopening amid record-breaking levels of hospitalizations, but Houston-area officials this week announced possible plans for reimposing stay-at-home orders. They introduced a new threat-level ranking system that now warns of a “significant and uncontrolled” level of Covid-19 cases.

“It feels like we’re going back to where we were several months ago,” said Umair Shah, a top public health official in Harris County, an area that includes Houston.
Stay safe, ninsp.

I think the thing is that even though we know that being young makes you much less likely to require critical care than you would be if you are old, being less than "critically ill" doesn't necessarily mean you won't get it bad. It just means you won't need medical intervention to ensure you don't die. That could mean that you still have respiratory issues and fatigue for months following infection. There have been reports of "long-haulers" who've had debilitating symptoms that have lasted two months now.

We don't seem to have much in the way of numbers telling us how many people we can expect to be "long-haulers." The current data just tells us if it's "critical" or "mild," "mild" referring to a large range of severities. It could be a tiny minority. It could be sizeable.

I find it funny how easy it is to derail y’all. It takes like no effort. One shitpost and the entire thread is about me for at least a page.

Easy.

It probably is for the best that ninsp try to rewrite his appearances in this thread as a good thing, however possible. He's already got enough on his plate with all that fear and anxiety.

Yikes, Texas is blowin' up

Texas reports record-breaking coronavirus hospitalizations, the sixth new high in a week

4 Days In A Row—Texas Sets Coronavirus Hospitalization Record Yet Again

Quote:
For the fourth day running, the Texas Department of Health on Monday reported the highest number of coronavirus patients in hospitals since the pandemic began, while the state has seen a surge in cases and the number of people testing positive for the virus.

The state hadn’t reported Monday’s new case count or death count as of the afternoon.

Yup, Texas is indeed going up, not my county though and things are going to stay open so I don’t really care.

Death rate is still minuscule, we’ll see if that’s changes.
