In this realm a few of the current Diva's are incredibly strong vocalist. Pink, Jessie J and the new little disney slutbitch Ariana Grande. I like their voices alot but cringe at most of the pop song choices they make. As a vocalist Katy Perry is fairly pedestrian by comparison, but her songs are way better in the genre. |

I would agree to a certain extent, like i'm suspicious of people whose tastes are extremely wide encompassing when it comes to well..i was gonna say music but i almost wanna say art in general cause i feel at some point like...do you even have a personality? who are you? On the other hand one has to remain open-minded. try things and not have preconceived notions. But more importantly, like what you like cause you like it, not because you think you should. Or shouldn't. like someone was saying in another thread (mooney i think) about the concept of guilty pleasures, i hate that too, i used to have them until i started thinking, fuck it, i like this because i think it's good and i don't need to feel any sort of shame about it. i don't need anyone's approval,.

I forgot about
Frank Black Peter Murphy Steven Malkmus. Man, I really do like his voice, and I don't even know why. And yes maybe it's obvious, but I do like Billy's voice, but to a point. There is some of his stuff I can't stomach. But I appreciate his uniqueness. His voice is just crazy, it's changed so much and it never sticks to one style. |
