After seeing what Metallica have done with their deluxe edition box sets, I wonder if Billy regrets the reissues he's done so far.
Frankly, their online store is what Billy should aim for. You can buy all their albums on vinyl, they've got live shows available as downloads or CD. They even have all the original tab books for sale. It's nuts! Remember when Billy had tab books? He should buy the rights to them too. This is Kirk Hammett doing an unboxing of the And Justice For All boxset. It's got vinyl, CDs, lyric sheets, a huge book, patches, passes...it's insane. AND IT COSTS $200... https://youtu.be/MqL04r775p4 If Bilb was going to do Machina right, it would be something like: * Reissue vinyl. * Machina II in it's original vinyl form * Machina demos on cassette * Promo lithograph * Book similar to the original insert with additional info * Arising tour bootlegs on CD. But even MCIS didn't get that treatment so... Imagine if he'd recreated a Sadlands demo tape, or recreated Mashed Potatoes for the SD reissue. Last edited by Funbags : 09-23-2018 at 08:10 AM. |

We'll get nothing visual from D'arcy.
Maybe finally the "final" Metro show, without James last words thanking D'arcy for her years with the band. Which could have been the main reason the show wasn't released yet. And with comments from Corgan on every track why they erased D'arcy's bass lines. Insults on Melissa Auf der Maur and Vasily Kafanov will be included too, but more indirectly... |

Dude has to know that people expect the "final" Metro show out of this. Any reissue without that would be a slap in the face, I feel like.

The essential re-release, for me. All the others were a bit pointless.
Machina Mystery? Don't give a fuck, never did. The concept, such as it is is a load of pseudo philosophical / religious babble. I like the old art. Somehow, we will be getting new, shittier art. Billy's voice is totally different now to 1999. New vocal takes will stand out like a sore thumb. It's acceptable to re-record instruments if there's gaps that need plugging, I guess. Streamlining the 2 albums into one cohesive whole, they need to orient towards a middle-point, not give the M II tracks a Machina sound. Despite the poor audio quality you can actually hear the instrumentation, there's space. Machina is all filled in by comparison. I'm not in favour of significant changes to existing songs in general, although maybe trimming a few Machina songs down slightly wouldn't be a bad thing? HMM is a decent 3.5m rocker (if given a new mix). Of course, every live version of HMM played since 2007 has been fucking awful so there's no chance of this happening. I'd lose the spoken section in GatGC also. Given Billy's poor decisions I think there's only an outside shot of this not getting fucked up, sad to say. Early on Billy said that Flood would likely be involved in the remaster for Machina, anyone heard whether this actually happened, or will happen? |

Bear in mind that this will be re-released by Billy Corgan circa 2018 and he will do anything in his power to botch it. I didn't like the original even if it showed much promise, looking forward to that being a lot worse. |

the Adore re-release was beautiful all-around, one of my favorite re-issues ever, and TAFH at least gave us that glorious '97 concert in high quality format

TAFH was reissued? How much extra stuff was added?
I don't care about the remasters, I just want new songs. |

Ya, Belfort. On my 7th birthday, no less! & every disc of the reissue had its own set of bonus tracks, 33's being a single track of Silverfuck '96

A glimpse of the Roquefort concert:
Still makes me laugh, that Monte was telling here, the rerelease of Machina was already in an advanced phase, having been Corgan's main reissue project... |

Ridiculously excited about the Machina re-issue. This is the one I've been waiting on. Even a couple of extra tracks / alt versions and I'd be happy.

Okay, wow.
I figured 4 LPs. But more than that? Yikes. Really surprised he still wants to incIude the MII rough mixes in there. Not surprised about the Metro show though |

I'll believe the tracklist once it is on Amazon. Until then I think he will be playing around with formats / lengths, but until then I don't think anything will be set in stone.

Are my eyes playing tricks on me? Did he actually just finally confirm the Metro DVD would NOT be included with this box??? No Vasily art either?! What in the actual fuck. We all know he won't add an Arising! pro shot concert because D'arcy, so basically this just means we're getting a slight upgrade for some other Machina show we've already had forever. I can't even wrap my head around this. It's his one and only chance to make money releasing that show.

Probably, but it's probably worth remembering that only hardcore fans really care at this stage about the video element.
I do wonder how critics will respond to Machina being re-released - if they will soften their views on it? I do recall it getting mixed, but positive reviews from some corners. |
