It was actually Korn's tour, but sure. Also worth noting Scott appeared on not one but two Limp Bizkit songs (and even produced one of them!)

I like STP but they never really seemed comfortable in just honing in on what they were. They seemed to be pivoting all of the time.
I actually like that about them. Bands that push the same sound album after album get old quick. If STP had kept hammering away at the Core/Purple sound, they would've fizzled out even quicker than they did.

when you have a singer as versatile as Weiland, it's probably only fitting that you would attempt different styles

None of it really matters if you enjoy the music.

Btw I tried listening to Purple and couldn't make it past a few songs.
STP shall remain a "the singles are ok" type of band to me.

If it's more of the eddie vedder/layne staley/kurt cobain style of singing i'm good.

I find it grating after a bit.

Aw come on. So many good deep cuts. Kitchenware & Candy Bars, Still Remains, Pretty Penny. I think it's actually their easiest album to digest from front to back.

I think they have more to offer beyond their singles, but yeah. I agree with this post 100%.

I'm not saying it's a bad album. I just find those vocal mannerisms hard to put up with in this day and age. Same reason I can't listen to Alice in Chains or Pearl Jam much anymore.

What about the same vocal mannerisms, but with Japanese lyrics?

I'd probably find it real funny for a bit, but the end result I expect would be the same.

Big Empty's always been one of my favorites too. They opened up with it when I saw STP play their 3rd to last show ever.
