MP3 Question!

So, sometimes I'll download something off SLSK that is, say, 320 CBR and when it downloads, I can't change the properties. It will show properties (album title, etc) once I open them in a music player but they won't show up in the folder:

Why don't the properties show up in the folder and why can't I edit them!

I believe the tag type id3v2.4 is not recognised by Windows, but your music program doesn't have a problem with it.

in foobar2000 for example, one can change the tag type. if you change the tag type to id3v2.3, then i believe it'll show up in the folder.

(tagging > mp3 tag types... > override id3v2 revision > v2.3)

Really I just want to make sure my iPod will play it. Sometimes a batch/album of mp3's won't play on the 'pod and I've never been able to suss out the reason. The 'pod will just skip them.

I'm just very anal about being able to see the properties when I open the folder.
