Cant we appropriate nazi fashion without the racist symbolism? I mean those outfits were pretty stylish. I think i'm gonna start to rehabilitate it starting tomorrow. ANyone else want to follow my lead? Whats the worst that can happen......

yes though i cant say i read much (if anything) of what he drew. Though...I'm pretty sure he did some Cap i read because i went through the whole 60s and 70s cap books once and i think he may have done some of those. I know he had a reputation for being kinda psychedelic which i assume is why you ask. I cant say i remember if there was anything like this in the cap books. I'm more aware of silver age than truly familiar with it. At least first hand.

nick fury is where he did all the psychadelic stuff
he got away with it in the last of the first run xmen books, neal adams was on that dying title too. i read through all the xmens until like 1990 or something and it was amazing the change in art style in the late 60s and early 70s. |

last nite i watched "who flung poo". it is about an artist who makes his own watercolors from the shit of homeless people and paints with them. he meets a woman who wants to get pregnant so she can make it in pregnant porn but the artist wants to wait until his masterpiece is finished. then she has the baby before they can make the porn and she gets so depressed she kills herself.
bill nowlin is hilarious as the porn director/agent/producer/whatever he is supposed to be. he's wearing an indiana jones outfit and it is hilarious. also watched 'trailer town' and it wasn't that great. i can see how a lot of people flipped their lids over it, though. there were three really really really good monologues in the film. the rest of it i can pass. |

oh and i forgot towards the end who flung poo gives the baby away to a guy named "acid dave" (no explanation necessary) because he feels it will have a better life. acid dave intends to make money off the baby from kiddie porn and while he is calling the porno dealer up he wanders off, leaving the stroller in the middle of the street only to get run over by a truck driven by the guy that was in love with the who flung poo's girlfriend (the one that killed herself)

I think the last movie I watched was You're Next
A- horror. Best I've seen in a long time. Juuuuust enough winking without turning it into a farce. And the blender! Love that creativity. And maybe I'm an idiot (I also don't like to predict plot points generally) but I was surprised at both "twists." |

You guys should watch "The Guest" from the same director as You're Next, it's an even crazier film.

High Fidelity:
For a movie that's supposed to be about elitist music listeners why is the soundtrack so painfully uninteresting? Nothing played made me go "Oh better check that out". And then the movie follows around this dumb unenlightened guy who pretty much only talks about women and only cares about Sex. And then because he makes an Elton John reference I'm supposed to think of him as a music snob? There are more interesting things in life than regularly getting your dick sucked like maybe spend some time single actually listening to that giant record collection. Then the moral of the movie is like you have to grow up and realize life is boring and just marry somebody you can tolerate. Found myself saying "Is this over yet?" towards the end Positives though: There were a couple parts that made me laugh pretty hard though. Jack Black was funny. Liked the narration style and the complex messed up relationships |

Hey, we actually agree on something. As a music fan, I didn't find myself relating with much of the screen play. Mostly just seemed like your generic early 20's kinda plot line that has been done to death.

There's no recognition from the main character that maybe typical adult life isn't for him. He keeps asking what's wrong with himself. It's like have you listened to any of those records?
His friends both end up living lives that true passionate music listeners would live. Jack Black's character becomes a singer for a band and the other dude dates an interesting girl who's interested in the same music as him. |

Snowtown Murders
O_O This was billed as a horror movie. It is not a horror movie. Jesus CHRIST. I can't give a rating. I'm too disturbed. But it was excellent, I have to say. Sonic Johnny what the fuck. I think this is only the second Aussie movie I've seen, the first being Priscilla. Loved the score too. |

the Dark Valley 2.5 out of 5
A German Western set in the high Alps. the western genre and period clothing felt weirdly out of place. the two hour run time felt like three |

I'm looking for a really scary film to watch tonight, but nothing with a lot of gore. I'm more into psychological thrillers. I also liked the babadook...
