Default So none of the hardcore fans here bought his signature guitar?

I figure at least a few die-hards here would've bought it... Even if just for the SP collector factor.

I think I might just set out to try and find his strat... I hate to say it, but RBG is kinda right. It does looks like sort of a chick guitar.

signature guitars are a scam. you're paying for a name of some dude on a slightly less stock guitar he had no hand in making. why even care?

I agree with you to an extent, think it depends on the artist. Some of them really are as involved as possible in the process and others as you said just sort of allow their name to be on the headstock.

With this latest BC signature guitar I would say it was probably much more of a collaboration job than the Fender project.

The most interesting thing to me anyway about this new Reverend is the hollowed out spaces in the body under those pick guards. I've gotten my hands on one to play around with a bit, and to me it felt almost like a middle ground between a strat and a hollow body "ES" style guitar in terms of weight and how it feels to stand up with it while singing.

Pickups aren't anything to brag about either, in fact I'd say those DiMarzio pickups from the previous strat defintely sound better and achieve the SP tone easier.

Coming from someone who has owned the signature strat and played the new Reverend enough to decide not to buy it- my advice is to find a really nice affordable stratocaster that feels good and stays in tune, and then just get the BC DiMarzio pickups. If you're strapped on cash start out with the bridge position pickup first (BC-2) and from there get the rest.

They used to sell the pickguard loaded with Billy Corgan pickups on eBay for about $250 USD, not sure if those are available anymore but the pickups individually are really not hard to find. Just my two cents!

20 years (give or take a couple) ago, I bought Noel Gallagher's Supernova. It sucked, but I sucked even more for buying it ($700!!!).

Signature guitars suck. Fuzzy sucks. Signature guitar threads by Fuzzy suck.

End of discussion.

Just some friendly advice: your about to get banned. If I was you, I would pm Ram27 (the head mod around these parts) to see what to do to postpone the inevitable banishment.

You briefly crossed my mind when I made this post. You're the kind of serious, completest collector who I would've thought would love to have the guitar in your collection.

I bought the signature Yamaha acoustic. It's absolutely fantastic and plays better than most acoustic guitars 2x or more the price.

The Reverend plays and sounds nice but it's ugly as sin. I don't see many buying them for that fact alone.

I didn't say that, I called out the other person who said that.

That Reverend would look fantastic being swung into the side of your head

How much does that retail for? Is that the one with the black and white paint-job?

The more I seriously considered buying it, the more the look of it stuck out... It's a really odd looking guitar isn't it?

The strange thing is, it doesn't look like anything Billy has played before... Kinda odd that he'd design his signature guitar to look that way.

Jesus Christ, you sure are a violent minded person.

*Edit* I just went and looked and you quoted a guy saying it looks like a chick guitar without typing anything. One would have to assume that you were agreeing with him... It certainly didn't appear that you're "calling him out".

It looked to me like you quoted it because you agreed and didn't wanna type the same sentiment twice.

People do that on forums... Say there's a big wide ranging conversation and someone already says exactly what you're thinking, a lot of people would just re-quote.
