Billy should cover this Simon commercial song for an Oceania b-side.

1) Not everyone has all the expendable income in the world to piss away on compact discs.

2) Are you fucking stupid?

"Common sense" is a red herring explanation, as it is often proven false under close scrutiny.

my guess is that most people no longer give a shit about latter-day SP, so the best chance for a new album is to promote it alongside something once-popular/beloved, e.g. a mellon collie reissue

'90s teenagers are now late 20s or early 30s, and probably not yet tied down with children or mortgages, so should on average have a good amount of disposable income. dot dot dot cross-promotion makes sense, and mickyshambles has the right of it

those two products at least have something to do with each other i.e. they are from roughly the same time period of the band.

whereas i think we can all agree that oceania has nothing to do with mcis

It is a combination of laziness and not having a lot of free time. You could try looking through Hipsters or Monte's blog. Crestfallen probably has most of them in the archive. The downside to that is that you would have to visit Monte's blog.

This is what I meant. Coinciding the release with the reissue would boost the exposure the band would receive in the mainstream media. It would assist in letting old fans know that the band is still around and introduce the band to a new audience via the exposure. MCIS was considered a monumental album and there is going to be a lot of positive attention showered onto it, just like they did with SD.
