I was going to say touche', but I don't know. A thesis takes a long time, and I've got like 250 posts, so.... It might be close.

Watched the Adore documentary (full version on youtube) yesterday and it was a stark reminder that Billy was once sane, focused and talented. This is the icing on the cake.

Kornikopia, you have to control for confounds. If you ask whether the participant learned to play Pumpkins songs, you also have to ask whether he or she plays an instrument. Otherwise the data from this question are nearly worthless if you are exploring fandom. Also, I hope you are taking this to many other forums, because Netphoria has a quite unique and non-representative fan culture.

"The biggest fan" is a horrible label for your scale. How many "5"-responses do you expect with this if people take the label seriously?

As others have said, I hope your dissertation is not on the Pumpkins, but on a bigger topic like fandom or something similar. Otherwise, this would be a bit of a waste of effort. Good luck with the study. Your data will require quie a bit of work if you want to analyse it properly.

Billy's existence is a burden to me now. Kinda wish he'd just disappear.

Yeah. Whole pre-Zeitgeist era was way underrated by eveyone. Now it seems that it could be okay if he released non-ambigous cute hit-or-miss releases like MSOTS/TFE for the rest of his life instead of his descending to underworld which happens now.

Or maybe he could just die after first three Zwan shows, could be an epic ending.

It'd better be Widow Wake My Mind, not When The Cocks Grow.

Billy, you had a really epic run. I mean that.

But I think it's time to stop taking this guy seriously.

one song every month and a half = 2 songs every 3 months = 8 songs per year. absolutely groundbreaking

edit: not to mention that this process really doesn't allow bc to filter out b-sides from album material so we're actually getting less songs via this methodology. TGbK is seriously the laziest, half-baked scheme ever produced. it would be a different story if we were getting more material, such as bedroom demos intermittently with the studio ones.
