Default let's talk about how the internet has adopted direct downloads as the new medium for

sharing music.

speaking of downloading, what do you guys this is the possibility of being caught downloading via torrent? and how do they go about catching such things? if i have uninstalled all programs to download and never shared any files with is there any way for people to track down such files i downloaded on my comp?

my gf recently had an attack of paranoia and had me swear off downloading and delete alot of stuff i already downloaded.

just get a rapidshare account and hit projectw and warez-bb

i think i must be on around 500 movies and counting on my external drives now, its awesome. i have about 80 gig of music which is tons for me, i still haven't listened to it all yet.

i think they target college campus computers the most, right?

also, i think Christ Himself is right, but I wouldn't go as far as getting an RS account.
For my music, I use a combo of Soulseek, AlbumBase, and Sordo Music Archive (along with blogs that post full albums) and have no problem finding everything I need, while staying pretty anonymous.

if you're into movies as much as music, yes, an RS account + warez would come in very handy. in my case, i can "wait" for movies, so i never pay for RS (except once)--instead, just download one link at a time over a few days.

p.s. Sordo is good, but very hit or miss

they can have the most obscure shit uploaded, but then the most mainstream band or whatever will have nothing

i hear getting a rapidshare account makes it even more likely to get caught

i just only seed non-riaa stuff

and that's basically all i download these days anyway

No i think they've been ordered to hand over the details of folks in the US who use it and they've just decided to pull the plug.

what do you think about how nothing is really hard to find anymore

i mean you can pretty much download anything. i didn't think i would be able to get that graham lambkin album (it's the weirdest thing i've ever heard by the way), but alas D. found it for me

do you think it makes records less precious?
