I wonder what happened with that Poots guy, in the end?

He must have moved on with his life, focusing all that freed-up leisure time on worthwhile pursuits.

This is the lull before the storm. He's about to strike with the fury of a thousand mantichores.

For Christmas.

Little Boy at Peace
What is this place,
Beyond the stars?
Open up your eyes
What are these things
You're moving toward?
Head so full of wonder!
Worries in the past!
Could it be that
you are free at last?

NOOOO!!!
Little boy, you're going to hell!
You said bad words, threw rocks at the bird
And now, this is your hotel!
You ain't going back, this ain't disneyland, it's HELL!
Little boy, it's time for you to pay!
For hurting that bird, and not going to church
And staring at boobs everyday
You thought you're in bed, instead you're in HELL!
Hell isn't good, Hell isn't good, HELL!
No, Hell isn't good, Hell isn't good, HELL!

i'd just like to come out and say that that Alanis song is, at its very core (and regardless of her particular rendition of it) is probably one of the most profound, rattling, powerful pop tracks ever released

how about getting off these antibiotics?
how about stopping to eat when i'm full up?
how about them transparent dangling carrots?
how about that ever elusive kudos?

thank you india. thank you terror
thank you disillusionment
thank you frailty, thank you consequence
thank you, thank you silence

how about me not blaming you for everything?
how about me enjoying the moment for once?
how about how good it feels to finally forgive you?
how about grieving it all one at a time?

thank you india, thank you providence
thank you disillusionment
thank you nothingness, thank you clarity
thank you thank you, silence

have you seen this heavenly 90s clip. it's a like a nature documentary capturing the behaviour of genuine pre-smart-phone young people. kinda eerie now

Don't cry.

Be like me and laugh maniacally until you're numb, instead.

i had an ex obsessed with her though, so i was forced to listen non-stop. maybe that's why. but i did always find her songs mediocre at best and grating at worst

she's in the same genre as Britney and Tay Tay, she's no Joanna Newsom or anything

I don't really like any of her work except for the nostalgia value but this one, every five years or so I'm just like goddamn it I am just going to unabashedly cry my eyes out and get off of these antibiotics

i'm certainly not a huge alanis fan, i just think that song is brilliant because it manages to convey a particular type of emotional overwhelming that's very rarely explored in music

I'm parsing it line by line now.

The guy who is afraid to fly and then thinks it's nice when the plane is crashing... that is actually ironic.
