Few more listens in. It's a very strange track, like a more interesting Aeronaut. At first listen it was atrocious to my ears but then I imagine someone like Prince singing it, cheesy lyrics and all, and it doesn't seem so bad. Not any kind of grower or keeper for me, but I listened to this into Silvery and it's a fair way to start an album for what that's worth.

I've accepted Jimmy's drums are going to sound butchered for the entirety of the album at this point and that's the saddest thing for me.

Those woo-woo's have got to go, that's my other real major gripe.

I hate it. I'm struggling to think of an sp single I've hated more.

Pretentious, millennial-chasing garbage.

I've done my duty and listened to this once... Now I've had to clear my internet history, saving any embarrassment, God forbid if my gf saw this.. I've poked red hot pokers into my ears and forbid myself from ever caring about Billy Corhan again..
I mean, dude! It's SP, not the Billy show! That drumfill after the "but no soldier comes" lyrics.. Is that Mike? Is this teargarden? I'm so confused!

It genuinely is a steaming pile of horse dung.

Good to see others talking some sense. I was confused when I was reading so many people liking it.

I genuinely believe Corgan is punishing the real fans for trolling him for so many years about an original SP line-up. It's like he's sayin, here you go.. you have what you wanted.. They're in the band. But I'm not letting them have an input on the music. They'll just sit there and look like whatever nostalgia you wanna believe you have..
They probably have to speak to their lawyer before they can speak directly to him!

lmao I could see it.

"If people think I'm getting the old band back together to do something nostalgic then they better think again"

Billy Corgan: "The fans wants nostalgia? Remember that ground-breaking teargarden album I made?! That was a great time for SP! Want nostalgia? Let's reminisce about those good old Mike, vibrato driven days! Enjoy your nostalgia audience"

The song was added one day earlier, on November, 6th.
Someone from the "rockandmetalnewz" on YouTube told the direct link to the song on YouTube too, on the 7th:

This song is so bad. I was nervous the entire time I listened to it that my lady friend would wake up and catch me. If she busted me listening to this nonsense she'd horselaugh me and I'd deserve it. I can't imagine anyone not already hard for Billy's past catalogue ever wanting to hear this mess. lol.

From the now existing reviews one could think that malta had the most potential.

Now after hearing the phased out of key wooohas i must say that i am disappointed.

Why is jimmy back? You can use a drim machine as well. No jimmy style here.
Iha? Non existent
Reminds me of. Teargarden era.

Silvery is by far catchier.

Decided NOT to buy sheissy and oh so shitty.

Pumpkins have become a persiflage.

It' s all billy. jasadlnot contribute that much. Maybe he does, but sadly not audible. Like on " the long good bye".

For me it's still the 1 man show with old marionettes.

James played on Processional, not The Long Goodbye. It's easy to hear what he did on Processional, it's subtle, but it adds a nice flavor to the song. He plays the guitar solo on Knights of Malta according to Billy.

Billy said With Sympathy is the song co-written by Jimmy, Jimmy's first songwriting credit in the Pumpkins.

As fuzzi pointed out.it is a teargarden song that sux.

Accept other opinions man. Wank to malta my boy when it is so good.

Anytime bully uses wohaaas or lalalas he destroys the sobg completely.

Malta has NO substance. Not a grower.

Silvery has typical pumpkin ingredients wheras the other 2 songs are just embarrassing crap.

Jimmy or james are just there.

Jim is disappointing- probably held back by bully.

Well it's definitely my favorite of the three so far since it's not something I would have expected to hear and I kinda dig it because of that. That being said I wouldn't call myself excited for the whole package to come out. KoM is sort of best-of-the-meh at this point.

I can barely tell the difference. And it’s not because he’s older. I’ve watched plenty of clinics of him slaying it with all sorts of styles and dynamics and subtle brilliance.... none of which I’m finding with the Pumpkins these days. He seems bored and uninspired. Not hard to see why.
I’d bet this song hasn’t change much, if at all from the D4N/MTAE recording, none of these tracks have - they’re leftovers Bill has repackaged. Jimmy and James are just here for the touring $$$.

This isn't a D4N song.

I love it. I don't mind the whoa whoa bit, I think it's catchy, it's new, it's different from everything Billy has tried. It sorts of runners me of what Greg Dulli does with the Twilight Singers, and that's amazing.

I also lie the fact that tree 3 songs we've heard so far sound different from each other. I hope the rest of them are also different - even though I would love to get a full album like Knights of Malta.
