Has Jimmy ever done rimshots really? All I remember is that one time in Tristessa (which apparently was an accident).

You can't even hear half the grace notes he's doing during that song

Man...I could listen to Jimmy all day long just playing snare drum, hi-hat & bass drum.

Fuck yeah >>>

I have to admit, jimmy looks better and healthier than most 50-year olds I've seen.. heck, he looks a lot better than corgan who's younger than him.

this always makes me chuckle.. "oh yeah it's time to party!"

I can't imagine how great it must've been to go to a concert then. Seeing D'arcy wearing that and Jimmy playing drums at the same time? Fuck. It's all downhill from there.

yeah, I'd kill to have been on that show (6-9-92).. the ceiling looks really low and judging by what everybody is wearing, it must've been really hot.. it's probably always hot in there, I mean, there's another video of them playing hummer at the same club in '93, and again d'arcy was shirtless. what adds more is that the club was in a basement, and it doesn't seem to have a capacity larger than 500.. sadly it doesn't exist anymore.
ahh.. I can't imagine how much it rocked back then to see the band there. the crowd looks absolutely crazy and the band was awesome..

lol @ james "you motherfucker!" at 4:53

anyways, it's a shame there isn't a full video of that '93 show anywhere.. oh well, it might surface one day - that would probably be the best thing we've got in years.

does anyone else feel that james' ultra-cussy motherfucker hip-hop banter got to be a bit tiresome as it went on from show to show?

if you know what i'm talking about then you probably know what i'm talking about

It became more and more common throughout the Lolla shows, probably in an effort to get some kind of reaction out of the crowds, but we all know how that went down.

I prefer his acid-addled nonsense that came around 1992

yeah, me too. from MCIS onwards, his onstage banter started to sound kind of boring.. almost as if he was trying too hard to be funny and witty just to entertain the crowd, but the band just wasn't into it.

Sidenote - if you're into watching Jimmy play drums this is a good recording to watch. Cameraguy is focused on him 95% of the time (except, of course, for the cool snare bits in Geek USA, Tristessa, and Cherub Rock. of course).

It's crazy during Geek USA - he has this weird nonchalance yet precision thing going on. Also note the paradiddles before "like they were never here"

Yo seriously - those Jimmy hi-hat stabs get me every time. That might be his most signature thing.
