'dictator' and the names of members and the albums were the only words I can understand. This is new?

Yes, it's new. He talks about how he was a dictator some times, but that James and Dárcy owed it to themselves. He says that the're not real musicians and that they're incompetent.

The thing that's weird is that he claims that he disbanded the pumpkins, because he had enough of all the internal arguiing and felt that the pumpkins had done everything that was in their possibilities.

woah, can you give the exact quotes on that? It's funny he's saying that they were incompetent now because he said the same thing back in 1994.....something like "I took two people who had no idea of how to play their instruments and made a band." That one.

"they (d'arcy and james) started to complain in interviws that they weren't playing on the record (SD). Instead that the journalists wrote that they were just not competent enough, thay concluded that I wouldn't let them in the studio"etc etc

interesting. In all fairness to the ego in that statement, D'arcy really wasn't that great of a bass player. He's got a point.

Sorry, but he's partially right.

Darcy has never impressed me with her bass playing, ever. She can't sing. I have never thought that there was a lot of musicality there. She's super neat, I love her and all, but I just don't think she has an intuitive sense of music.

James probably was closer to that when he started, and he's never been a GREAT guitar player, but he's definitely got musicality. James really turned himself (probably more through hard work rather than Billy's help) into a musician.

but who drove that hard work into both of them? I'll acknowledge Billy for being a control freak he is, but in many ways it had to be a better band because of it. All four members made up the soul of the band, but when it comes to musicianship Billy was truly indispensible. Toward Adore James started to come into his own, but before that, and especially around SD, it was entirely Billy.

it's a bit awkward to understand sometimes......it would still be better if someone actually translated it.

you fucking pigs, jimmy was on par with billy in-terms of musical ability, why hasn't anyone mentioned him

d'arcy and james did not seem to be in possession of anything particularly grand, but they did fill out a nice outfit; you cannot forget their contribution

well, we didn't speak ill of Jimmy did we? The "on par with musical ability" thing is generally implied.

Jimmy was the engine, so many drummers are, of the band.
