2019 releases
What releases are you guys looking forward to this year?
I'd like to find out about new albums before December 2019. So far I've heard good things about the new Deerhunter album (haven't heard it yet), then I know that new albums by Mono, Glen Hansard, Swervedriver, Hozier and Cass McCombs will come out that I'll give a try, but otherwise, I got nothing. Any January releases out you guys enjoyed? |

Not sure what month they are being released but I'm looking forward to:
- Hum - Dredg Found this but there's nothing listed that I'm excited about except for the new Papa Roach of course. /s https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_2019_albums |

Alison’s Halo is putting together an EP called Skywide, which is leftover songs from their sessions back in the 90's.
There's a punk band here in TX called Amygdala that has been super DIY putting together a tour and supposedly have a new album coming out at some point. The Big Pink and Black Market Karma have something coming out, too, that I'm eager to hear. Craig Finn, Jenny Lewis, shoegazers Lazy Legs have a new one coming out. Modest Mouse, too. And isn't My Bloody Valentine "supposed to" have something out? (I mean, every year they do but isn't in more or less expected this year?) |

And I could have sworn Neutral Milk Hotel was, at one point, supposed to be doing something shortly after that box set they put out years ago. But Wiki says they are back on indef hiatus so I suppose not.
I'm not even sure I'd want to hear new NMH music tbh. |

New James Blake dropped yesterday, haven't scoped it yet but dug the singles. New Chelsea Wolfe, La Dispute, pretty sure another Hotelier album on the horizon.

I like Tobacco and definitely used to vibe Aesop but he's been such a painfully boring rapper for so many years now and what I heard of Malibu Ken just lent even harder into that trend.

it's gonna be acoustic which should be cool, loved the forays into doom on her last couple but really enjoy her more songwriter-y stuff.

Sharon Van Etten – Remind Me Tomorrow
I give this album 4.5/5 stars. This is her most accessible and best album. |

Took, thanks for the reminder on the new MONO. Been following them since 2005 and still keep forgetting a new one is coming out this year. I'm out of the loop.
Sonic Johnny, thanks for the heads up on the new La Dispute. I like the first 2 LPs and some of the older EPs (newer ones I need to check out). Listened to Rooms of the House and it didn't stick with me but it could always be given another chance. Will be checking out the new one. |

Yeah, I can't wait. Seems like they are going in a darker, heavier direction, at least on two of the new songs I've heard.

they emailed me yesterday:
"We're excited to announce a brand new album due this September. The as yet untitled album was written over the course of 2018 and recorded in December at Dreamland Recordings near Woodstock, NY. Produced by Tom Dalgety." |

both of the new albums are solid. nothing like the old stuff, of course, but still pretty good. and there are songs that are excellent on both.
