when it all just kicks in during the 2nd chorus at "as my RADIO PLAYS MY FAVORITE SONG" i still go nuts.

it really is my favorite song, too bad the radio doesn't play it

When he sings "radio" and the heavier distortion comes in, it is one of the best Pumpkin moments.

one of the finest uses of backwards guitar solos in recorded music. overall a incredible track... definitely the standout on machina. and man, that live video... i miss melissa, if not simply the way she grinds.

Fantastic song. And live it's just so emotional! You can hear him begging the radio gods "What is it you want?! What is it you want to change?!" He calls upon them to tell him what to do, as if no matter what he does it isn't good enough and it must be changed. He speaks not to executives in the industry but also the people, yearning to know what it is an audience wants from a man who has given so much. Then he curses the very machine that he recognizes has given him life, the radio... radio... radio... Recognition of his awareness that he owes everything to the radio yet hates it so much is what brings this song to the level of others where he sees himself in a relationship he hates yet can't escape! It's so good!!!

Along with SIYL, it's one of the two songs from the album that are basically most reminiscent of the "classic Pumpkins" sound. Which thereby provides evidence that a "classic Pumpkins" sound must exist.

Although the lyrics (some of which are a bit naff, IMO...I'm not much on songs that self-consciously reference musically related subjects) and lyrical delivery (which sounds kinda...flat?) are still kind of "meh," one of the coolest things about the song is that there is kind of an 80's or early 90's flavor to it.

one of my favorite songs to play back when i practiced regularly

there's a lot of emotion in this song, albeit kind of from an insane guy's perspective
