Default thread for new Marilyn Manson album, will post here when it leaks

Sooo his last album was alright. This new one is supposed to sound like Bauhaus and Joy Division, so I am kind of interested

In a March 2012 interview with Revolver magazine, Manson described the album as "[not] really sound[ing] like any of my old records. In fact it sort of sounds like what I listened to before I made records, (Killing Joke, Joy Division, Revolting Cocks, Bauhaus, Birthday Party)... It's very rhythm-driven. It's actually very bluesy. It's the first record where I repeat verses. I just sing the words in a different key, the next time. I've never done that before, because I've always felt like I needed to write a lot of words in the past … I think this will probably be the grandest concept record of all."[21][22] "[Born Villain] felt like making a first record because I went in with only ambition and only the confidence and determination to impress people that heard it for the first time," he says. "Knowing that there might be people that have never heard my music and without being arrogant or ignorant knowing that they’ve heard it already."[23]

meh. very middle of the road album with a couple cool moments peppered throughout...
I absolutely hate manson's current singing style. off key moaning is annoying as shit

Furthermore, it seems that he's convinced that it sounds cool or something

another thing that stood out in either track 3 0r 4 is that it all sounds so slow. i guess these old men can't crank out a jam anymore

Murderers Are Getting Prettier Every Day is easily the best song on the record.

I like some of Born Villain, but The High End Of Low was better.

the packaging of the cd is so fucking cheap i feel cheated.

I still haven't made it past song 4 on this record. Persevering doesn't really seem like it's worth the effort with MM these days.

So yeah, I skipped ahead to the Murders are getting prettier every day. If only the whole record had been as good as that...

the track before it, Lay Down Your Goddamn Arms, is alright too. though that chorus took some getting used to. sounds like a deftones chorus or something.

There used to be an audio CD rental shop in my town, funnily enough, I remember renting The Last Tour on Earth back in 2000. The place didn't last long though.
