nice picks, but i only doubt you because of your fascination with the NBA's supposed underhand tactics.

maybe we/you/not me should keep a tally this season, of how many times that happens.
It all depends what the line of the spread is. Find out what the spread is and you'll be surprised how many times these public favorites end up missing the spread by 1 or 2 points while it hardly ever happens the other way around.

You won't notice the this kind of fishy shit unless you're a gambler though.

Thanks man. I understand your skepticism and I'm well aware that my theories could be way off. But for years I was a degenerate gambler, going nowhere until a seasoned vet took me under his wing and mentored me. He was certain that the shit was fixed and taught me how to know who would win. Since them I've been killing it.

Mind you this was only a year and a half ago. That's why I'm not balling and rich yet, But it's like lightbulb went off in my mind and really the results are fucking crazy.

That's awesome! It sure makes sports interesting eh? I don't think I'd give a fuck about sports if I wasn't a gambler.

I've never understood how people can have 1 favorite team and it stick with it for years and years throughout different players, managers, general managers, owners etc. All because of a geographic location. It's fucking retarded.

I could be. But either way, I've learned to take the state of mind of Vegas and try to understand what their attentions for any lines are. With hockey and baseball heavy wagered favorites win all of the time. With the NBA it's SUPER rare. It's suspiciously rare.

Are these lines makers just THAT sharp? I highly doubt it.

I understand what you mean here. Like in Baseball I follow the Blue Jays the closest because I was a fan growing up. I haven't liked their team much the past few years and was actually hoping they'd lose because I think their GM is a complete putz, but I'm still always up to date on what the team does.

But really, my main intention with this thread is that other people will join and and post their picks when they feel really confident about a matchup. Because everyone follows different teams more closely than others, so it's good to get the perspective on a club from someone who's a huge fan.

Like in baseball my biggest success came from Blue Jays games, because they air here everyday and they're the team I follow most closely so I always had a good idea on what kinda teams they'd destroy or falter against.

i think the pelicans are the shit team to break big.

west its so hard to say.

gasol looks real strong early on.
spurs is spurs.
mavericks reloaded very nicely.
suns are a track meet.
rockets are potentially dangerous.
clippers are very strong.
blazers are quality and should improve
warriors are actually picked by fivethirtyeight to win
timberwolbs may not be that bad
okc stumbling is gonna hurt them a lot
nuggets look p bad now after that okc loss
lakers are a hilarious mess
jazz? playoffs?

east is super funny to me

cavs have a horrible bench sound familiar
bulls look good but it hinges on rose as ever
heat are a west 8 seed at best
wiz could be a 3 seed
raps are coming up
hawks could actually be very solid
hornets are going to probably be very inconsistent
knicks have carmelo or whatever
nets smell like old people
celtics will probably improve kinda
pistons need to trade smith or monroe and maybe they can get better
pacers offense is so horrible i am thinking a bottom 5 finish
magic are still bad
bucks are better than the sixers
sixers are an embarrassment and should be demoted to the d league

Really? I'm fairly successful with hockey. I don't think I've had a losing season in it yet. I'm a big spot player when it comes to hockey. Like when I see the team on a harsh road schedule playing a back to back against a team who's coming off a bad loss I'll always play those super hard and almost always win.

But yeah, I'll keep the record updated. So far I'm at 4-0. Ever since I was mentored I've been OWNING NBA. I'm telling you guys, even if you're not a gambler, you should open up an account with a sportsbook and profit off of my picks. I figure we're all fuckups anyways, So if I can help make you guys some money, I'm happy to do it.

I guess it's that old leading a horse to water analogy haha

Why? If you truly know your shit then it's a great way to make a secondary or primary income. Theres lots of guys out there who do this shit for a living. How sweet is that? Just sitting around following sports while the money pours in. It's really what I'm seriously working hard at achieving.

It's dope, it's all Tax-Free in Canada too. You only have to start paying taxes after you've have had several, high winning seasons in a row. Once I'm good enough to start making a living off of it I can go 2-3 years without paying a cent of taxes.

I get it. It's the same thing for me and the Blue Jays and Raptors. They're the games that are on every single day, they're the focus of all of the talk-radio/tv shows. It's the accessibility factor.

But really, who even cares? Any given core of a team will be nearly totally different in 5-10 years anyways. Is the only reason to support a team the iron-on crest on the jersey?

Hey Poots, I took some time to analyze that game for you and I feel badly about the Pats. If I was you, I'd have to go with Denver. In fact, I'm putting a small wager on the Broncos myself.

I feel that Vegas is trying to entice people into taking the Pats. And from the sites I've checked, the public seems to be slobbing at the Pats knob too. I think Mannings gonna carve em up and that the Brady show falls back down to earth this week.

Cheers.

I have some official NFL picks for you guys tomorrow.

Baltimore -2
New York Jets +9

As I said, I also have some small money on Denver, but I'm not going to put it in my "official" picks because it's more of a hunch than something I feel certain about.

Cheers and lets get that scratch eh?
