i wish the noisier shit was more integrated instead of just at the end of a couple songs but its way better than all the irritating american beauty songs had lead me to believe gonna try aoxomoxoa |

graveflower try live/dead next, all long psych material and no country. caution > feedback is esp. noisy

i don't really know too much about the DPs but I'd definitely recommend #4 (Valentine's Day 1970 which is considered to be their best run of shows ever by a lot of people) or #12 which is a couple of really spaced out 1974 sets
also throwing out #8 (5/2/70), skip the acoustic first disc but the second set is psych dead at their best from what you are describing I would recommend more or less anything from 1968 - 1969 though, supposed to be their heaviest and noisest era |

liking aoxomoxoa too
redbull have you heard the Hampton Grease Band - Music to Eat its like these two albums but probably a lot crazier. i mean. i dont know. i can't describe it. it's like something in between this and beefheart and a little zappa-ey i guess. it's been like one of my favorite obscurities since i found it from the nww list |

I regularly listen to the Grateful Dead station on Sirius. Alot of dead stuff is incredible but I'm not a big fan of Bob Weir's singing so I can't say that I'm really a Dead head. I'm a Jerry head
