how is the US overhyped? 66-1 odds? that's not much hype.

they looked like a high school team for the first ten minutes. pretty embarrassing. i thought they settled down eventually and looked ok, especially for most of the second half.

I was talking about England being over-hyped. Have the USA been in the World Cup before?

Dude I don't know much at all about soccer. I hate the game itself but like the WC. You know this.

Still think Slovenia beats the US though.

i still love those damn vuvuzelas! maybe they make a better impression in person. And frankly, people cant stop blowing them, including the tourists. It's hypnotising. You keep wanting to get better once you worked it out. God damn.

Some american kid fell off table mountain and died!

also, apparently something like 132 000 tickets were sold to Americans. Why do you love soccer so much, America? I hear the WC you hosted was one of the biggest attended so far. Do you really live in such excess that even passing fads claim so much of you?
PS: Nice draw. You beat the odds, you fought the river with your samon heart and you rose above, it is in the american nature.

One, I don't think any Americans are getting cocky, two, how do you know England is overhyped? All you've done is seen them play the U.S.? (who, lest we forget, did beat Spain last year).

In general, or what?
We're gonna have a Japanese party during the match at our place tonight, since my (Japanese) roommate has invited tons of his old friends. Fucking kill me already.

They create some mighty fine electronic gadgetry. And the Kimono is pretty sweet when worn by an attractive western woman.

Good things have come from Japan, but it is a profoundly terrible place.

But this is about soccer, not Japan. So let's focus on what's going down in Johannesburg.
