Default Dandy Warhols playing 13 Tales in its entirety in concert

That sounds like it would be awesome to see. I'm seriously thinking about going to that. They come to DC in late May. I like to think of 13 Tales as being their Mellon Collie. And Come Down is their Siamese Dream.

I just recently got into these guys. I really liked 13 Tales and their first album.

I did not like their "Siamese Dream" though.

You actually liked Dandys Rule Ok more than Come Down? The first one is ok but the songwriting isn't as interesting as on the second one. They sound exactly like their influences on the first one. Come Down is more bold and creative.

What was bold and creative about it?

Come Down has some brilliant moments on it. I've never heard anything like "I Love You" or "Green" or even "Be In." Come Down just feels like they put more effort in than the first one. I mean sure there are also some typical shoegaze / psychedelic moments on it too. But I think like Siamese Dream it shows some progression.
I think it has a lot to do with the way they take all these different types of trippy, druggy styles of music like drone and psychedelia and shoegaze and dream pop and blend them all together in a way that more often than not doesn't remind me of anyone.

Come Down is a brilliant record for most of the way through, good enough to make up for the drone of Peter International Airport at the end of the record that fits but y'know isn't very good.

13 Tales is good but it's been bastardised by the Vodaphone Bohemian sponsorship - great song but played on adverts for about half a decade.

Anyone seen them live recently? I saw them years ago at the Leeds Festival and the sound was god awful, put me off seeing them again.

Rolling Stone magazine said Come Down was the best 60s to 90s excursion by an American band. In a way Gish is also kind of doing that same thing. Taking 60s influences and merging them with 90s influences.
