my guess is another compilation with a few new exclusives thrown in. maybe billy is tired of losing money?
if he quits TBK i'm giving up on this band. not that the album was turning out fantastic, i'm just tired of him not following through on anything |

compilation of what though?
and i'd like it if he abandoned tbk because it's terrible and it would be really dumb to keep churning out horrible songs just to get up to 44 in order to prove he could actually finish something. imo anyway. |

i'm not saying he should finish for the sake of finishing. i like the album better than mary star and zeitgeist so far. i'm just conceding its not mindblowing or anything

it seems to be going in a new direction. some of the results are a flop, but other times they shine. like a stitch in time in particular.

i have never been able to get through an entire listen of a stitch in time. not once.
there are ok things about tom tom and lightning strikes. freak is the only song i can say i don't at all dislike. and even there the "lalalas" are excessive and annoying. i used to think astral planes was ok but it didn't age well with me at all. lyric, settle down, declarations of faith, honestly, el sol, of a broken heart, black swan, desire, jesus i/msots, heartsong, ttw, neverlost, stellar, zeitgeist, ma belle.... ok just about every song on those two albums with a couple exceptions from zeitgeist shit all over everything from tbk. |

i'm a retro synth nerd so naturally i'm going to prefer alot of TBK material. but really i think there would need to be about five more songs to definitively compare it to another album because billy/SP's LPs are generally about 12-15 tracks long. plus with 44 tracks you could argue the quality varies more blah blah. but i'm not making that argument
as it stands now though, if i were stranded on an island and had to choose between tbk in its current form or zeitgeist or mary star, i'd go with one of the latter i admit. they had good songs, i just felt they didnt push any boundries like pre-2000 stuff did and thats why i got into SP in the first place |

Not sure if srs but it's certainly a tough call for me between Zeitgeist and TBK.

It was such a flat attempt though... Utterly without dynamic and completely bland and flat. Every fucking song.
The song "Zeitgeist" was pretty good though. |

i think zeitgeist was supposed to be gritty stoner rock album like Master of Reality but things got lost in the shuffle and turned out different. the first five tracks get it right though

this, and even then it's hard to hear the drums behind the vocal track, which is a god damn shame, because the drums are fucking awesome |

I haven't heard anyone else that I recall mention this but I think maybe he's signed with a label to re-release all the old albums. Probably with an extra disc of demos/rarities ala The Cure's re-issues. I actually wouldn't be all that opposed to this. My copies of the albums are pretty worn at this point so I could justify rebuying most of them. Probably not the case, just a thought.
Don't know what this has to do with new music though, unless he means old "new" music (yeah, I know I'm dreaming). |

Pasitichio Medley!
Apparently I lost Gish and Siamese Dream, so if they re-released them I would have to buy. Also, remastering MCIS would be a good idea. |

Zeitgeist... a bunch of riffs taken too far...
Since I started paying attention to SP again after 10 years I've come to the conclusion that Billy should have continued to release his music under his name, as solo material. If he actually includes the new band members in writing or arranging songs then it would be different. But especially with Jimmy gone, at least the first half dozen or more TBK songs are solo tunes. I like most of them, but half of them don't sound like SP at all. One thing is for sure, everybody can't stop talking about TBK. And whatever the announcement is it will disappoint somebody. |

remastering albums these days usually just means they get louder and lose dynamics
