Moving is the worst
I would give up a fucking kidney to stay where we are now. About to drop off a rental app for a place that is smaller and has less outdoor space and you have to go outside to get to coin operated laundry that is more expensive than what we are paying now.
sigh. i never thought i'd say this, but i think i might start thinking about buying something. and let's not forget about the actual process of moving. which i didn't think i'd have to do again for a while. fuuuuuucccckkkkkkk |

signed a one year lease june of last year. the landlord is actually moving back into this apartment.
he was all "sorry you guys were great tenants" and i understand he has to do what he has to do (selling his current house to help save money for his wedding and stuff) but godDAMN i want to stayyyyyyyyyyy i am contemplating asking him what we would have to pay in rent to help him save the kind of money he needs to save but i can't imagine that's realistic. |

the location of the place we just looked at is actually mind-blowingly awesome. but it's not worth the other trade-offs. but i'm thinking it's the best we'll get. we've only looked at three places so far, but i'm pretty familiar with what you can get in this neighborhood.

i never use on-site coin op laundry because it increases the probability i will have to interact with my neighbors. plus, the place that i go to is 24 hours and has free wifi so i can just browse reddit for two hours while my clothes get washed in industrial washers and dryers.

i never have an issue with people interacting me when i don't want them to because i'm good at all three and i make use of them deliberately the only time i run into issues is when service industry folks try to buddy buddy me and on the one hand i want to just say "look i don't want to talk to you, if you just give me my food and keep my tea filled you will be richly rewarded" but i also feel like i just have to put up with it because they have a hard job |

this. People never address me. And if they do they don't do it twice. I went to the dentist earlier this week and even he stops trying to talk to me about anything after like two questions. He's a good dentist but i'm there to get my teeth fixed, not conversation. Don't ask me about my life. I know you're good, you wont lose me just because you don't talk to me (well other than about the procedures, thats fine). All that being said i get asked for directions too often for someone who barely ever goes out and never makes eye contact. Im not sure what that's all about. maybe i look like native montrealer (im not |

my rent just went up $50. still a steal at $500/mo. they'd have to really fuck with me to get me to move. been here almost two years and will stay here as long as i'm in school if they will have me. the year before i moved in i had to move 4 times. fuck that.
good luck eulogy, maybe you'll find something super awesome. |

if i just focus on the location i'll be happy about it. i'm pretty sure we were the first ones to look at it. and i'm gonna go drop off the rental app right now. so i'm thinking if we want it we can get it. we're also looking at a place on tuesday that's smaller and cheaper and in a very similar location. and if we're serious about looking to buy it might be a fine stop gap. we'll see. |

there used to be a semi-famous laundromat/bar/venue in cincy called sudsy malones. they hosted bands like modest mouse and white stripes in their early days. if you brought your laundry there was no cover and you got two free drinks. deal of a lifetime.
edit: i think the pumpkins played there too |

they were open as a regular laundromat and bar when a show wasn't going on but naturally you would wait until a show to do your laundry. before they shut their doors it was mostly metal acts though.

the stage was up by the front door so the stage background was the windows looking out into the street.
if you were on stage the bar was on the left wall, front door on the right side. small (maybe 20 square feet) audience room and then the rest of the place was about 4 or 5 rows of washing machines with the entire back wall of industrial dryers. the bathrooms were back there too. |

i'm bad at describing so i just made a quick sketch - the place was full of those neat shopping cart type laundry pushers too

i have the next 3-4 issues already mapped out - just don't have enough time/too lazy to actually execute them. plus i still have a visible pile of 20-30 issue #1's still sitting here that don't exactly inspire me to make more. maybe i should hide them. sneak peak: issue two is all about sneaking up on people |
