How long do you think until we see a reunion tour with the original members?
I figure it will be when ever when each of the members has hit rock bottom financially. D'arcy has been there for a good while and I think the rest are all well on their way to that.
I'm thinking at about 5 years if the Smashing Pumpkins put something out again and it is as mild and forgettable as Oceania was. Bill has been quite out spoken towards music groups that have done that but he has also said a lot of things that he hasn't stuck to before so it is absolutely on the table. I think once he realizes that whatever he is trying to do with this current formation of the group just isn't working and it isn't going to work then he will desperately try to round up the original lineup for one last shot at relevance and big money. |

I hope you're right... But Corgan made a shit load of money in his hey day... And hes the kind of guy that would be conservative with his money... I just don't see him pissing through it like other rock stars have.
And even worse, In Corgans mind he sees Oceania as some big successful comeback... So expect to hear more of the same sorta snoozefest material in the future. |

About the same time Banana's descendents lose the webbing between their toes and start using tools.

the only member who seems viable at even playing on the same stage as ol Billy again is Jimmy. D'arcy definitely isn't coming back because she's all crazy now supposedly, though Melissa could take her place. James is probably willing to come back, but Billy still holds this grudge against him for something most people would have gotten over by now.
as much as i'd love to see a reunion, i don't think it's gonna happen unless things somehow change with Billy and he decides to stop being a sourpuss. |

Oh it would sure to be a train wreck of a tour. They would be at each others throats for a few days. But I think in the chase of money they will all agree to do it within the next 5 years. |

Whenever this 'era' ends I wouldn't be surprised to see a Bimmy reunion. James has a ~25% chance of ever playing with them (thinking long long term here). Darcy at about .001%
But the release of a new mbv changed my perception of the possible |

nah i think Billy's animosity and bitterness will just get worse over time. at this point he'd probably rather go out of business than play with james iha again.

Will we ever see the original four? Nope: D'arcy is too far out to ever play on that level again. In terms of a James, Billy, James reunion I'd guess around the time they get into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
