I should write more so that it's more annoying to get all frothy and argumentative towards.

I don't think anyone's piling on, but it's hard not to brush off most of this shit as "nut up and be a grown up." No, this job is not the most important thing in the world and life will go on, but there's nothing Republican about taking your responsibility -- however measly it may be -- seriously and doing your best when someone is paying you to be there.

Show us a picture of the guy from restaurants past you were thinking about when you got all mad at Ram, Flaming Globes.

I bet he looks just like a low-level contributor to the economy.

Everyone has problems and the world would come to a screeching halt if nobody pushed past them to get shit down.

Yeah, Ram. You've been out of rehabilitation for at least a couple of weeks, now. There are millionaire children coding apps out there. What's your excuse?

This is great. This is the most impassioned I've ever seen you posting on here. You should come out of your shell more often!

It's a public holiday. All of my energy can be directed towards the good things in life while I avoid thinking about the dark events that gave rise to this day off.

it reminds me of the weird thing going with Pete Bootyfaces position on free college whereby he tries to posture as more liberal by being against it because bourgie mofos can pay their own way

I think you should steal from your employer whenever possible like they're certainly doing to you but whatever

Can you describe three ways your employer is stealing from you? Genuinely curious as to where this perspective comes from.

And I have no problem stealing tape, pens, various office supplies and anything I damn well please out of the break room, thank you very much!

When I was at my most brokest of brokes a few years back, I would go into the employee bathroom on my way out for the day, roll as much toilet paper up as tightly as possible and cram it into my pockets to take home. Because shit, that $1.50 can be put to better use elsewhere!

Gosh didn’t expect a casual admission of WORKPLACE THEFT from the same guy, in the same thread, giving Ram27 a hard time over his relatively minor work-related failures

Yes, but even with paid time off, I refuse to call in sick unless I'm actually, y'know, sick. So I may steal small things from my office, but I don't steal anything from my coworkers who would have to work harder in my absence.

Basically, I sleep at night just fine, even though there aren't any sleeping pills to pocket from the First-Aid kit in the bathroom.

I think we'd have to get political wunderkind fuzzypalms in here to confirm, but I feel like I'm more of a socialist than a Republican in this regard.

I should address some of this:

re using the word cunt: I didn't mean that in the super offensive american way - I know I'm american but I consume a decent bit of UK/Australian media so I'm kinda desensitized. And the note she left - the general manager/the man who fired me - he talked to me about it the next day and we both laughed about it.

And re my views on women yeah they're pretty fucked/obsessive - it's complicated and my therapist is really helping me with that. I'm not happy about it. [I hope it's evident that I'm not at all hateful towards...anyone, really. I know the whole C***** thing was a fucking mess - I was a complete trainwreck of a human then for so many reasons and just didn't know how to react. I feel like shit about it daily. Lemme know if I say anything shitty going forward; anything beyond my usual 'obsessive' shit]

thank you dearly buzz for being kind. and thank you forum for giving me shit - that's what i ask my therapists to do as well lately (whoever it was that called me out on discord for being like 'my therapist helped me so much about not being obsessive about women - she's the best!' yeh i know lol. at least this time the sane part of my brain is saying 'fuck you fuck you fuck you' to the crazy part). I feel I've grown and improved a ton since...even a year ago. And that may not come out entirely properly on here - hopefully since a good bit of my posts are smashing pumpkins nerd shit.

there's both the theft of the value of your labor that's inherent in capitalism

and rampant workplace specific wage theft tactics

Not trolling or trying to dump on your job, but realistically, how much do you think you deserve to earn for what you do? It doesn't take a degree to work a cash register, and it requires virtually no manual labor.

Ah, I see. Nothing to actually offer. Just a spoiled, entitled brat with nothing to offer the world.

You're totally going to age well.

Some more than others. If you work behind a counter, press buttons and do minimal labor, your time is not as valuable as someone who went to school, learned a trade, breaks their body to make a living etc.

In a perfect society, the uneducated or the physically unable wouldn't have to worry about their low paying, entry level jobs because there would be a safety net in the form of affordable housing, free healthcare, food stamps etc. to help make up the difference.

Basically, even though we butt heads on just about everything, I think you are capable of more than the jobs you seek. Apply yourself, and you'll make more money. And deservedly so.
