that response is quite something. somehow I expected to see a surprise gig announced for Düsseldorf this week, it would have been a great chance to leave the sell-out arena platform for the art world for a minute. 60th anniversary of the Zero art movement, but nope, of course not.

What I don't get is that it's not like those shows between 09-15 were unsuccessful. In the UK they did two sold out shows at Brixton in 2012, Sold out arena tour and nearly-sold-out Wembley Arena in 2013 (same as tonight really), sold out club shows in 2014 and a well received set at Glastonbury. Were agents just not taking the bait for bigger tours? This just seems so odd. What exactly is he looking for? He's also said he couldn't interest enough promotors in the big, expensive Shiny tour in Europe, so that obviously doesn't work either - so why not take the still-profitable-but-less-so route of theatre tours and less elaborate arena shows, which keep the audience engaged and help sell new releases?

Exactly, also "as SP" isn't quite the same as with JC and Iha, Europeans didn't have a chance to see JC play SP since Zeitgeist, let alone Iha. No idea on what planet he is floating these days, SP weren't a Rolling Stones "fill the biggest space there is" act in Europe even in their heyday.

Maybe they don't end up being as profitable.

Maybe with 2 small children he doesn't want to tour SA or Europe unless it's going to be for a really really large amount of money.

Btw, the show was better than I was expecting, even though the sound was not always great - fuck Wembley acoustics.

I was also assuming the crowd would get tired through the show but it was actually the opposite, and everybody was energized and jamming around near the end.

They played Silvery Sometimes, and no Solara/Muzzle. Amalie Bruun (Myrkur) joined them to sing Landslide.
