It's completely pointless to attempt to stack it up against any other albums this early on, so i'm going to steer clear of all that nonsense and just say that I really really like it.

the reverse sounding bit at the start is very similar to lost cause by beck.

i don't think i like it much. it's trying to be really intimate pop and all. in that way it's kind of like the eraser. i like the eraser better however. ryan patrick is right, this is really adult contemporary-sounding at times. all songs kind of sound the same. or just already done. it's watered down radiohead. every melody reminded me of an old radiohead song or something. it's still pretty cool and all, faust arp is good, the bodysnatchers riff... and i'll find more things to like about it after repeated listens. i'm at house of cards right now and seriously the noise in the background is the best thing about it.

ugh jigsaw. why?

after all these years, kid a is still the more interesting listen.

I think they're too big a band to not review it. The model for release is also newsworthy enough that I think most will at least give it a cursory review.

I like how you think your thoughts on this are so important they deserve their own thread. You couldn't post in the In Rainbows thread, no no, people were waiting especially to see Dogfighter28's opinion.

After listening through this twice I'm finding I'm really loving the textures of this record. There is this exciting new romantic element infused into the Radiohead blender that takes some of the icyness out of the sound, particularily the Hail to the Theif sound, which is very promising. I've always suspected a joyful element just lurking somewhere beneath the surface. I also like how tastefully the jazz and classical arrangements gel. This is the most upbeat they've sounded since the Bends. The songs themselves however, at this point in time, dont' strike me as particularily memorable. This album has all of the swagger of a disc with massive hooks yet nothing has really coalesced in my brain yet. It's all just texture, momentum, histrionics, fuzz... Hopefully with further listening I'll start feeling like I can hum along because there is a lot of promise here.

15 Step, Nude, Arpeggi, All I Need

Those are orgasmic.

Stop spooging over Bodysnatchers. It has heavy guitars, WOW! Besides that, what is there? No hooks, nothing memorable whatsoever.

It's jazzy - it's like a whole album of songs that sound/seem like "Life In A Glass House" - and at the moment, that makes it my favorite Radiohead album ever.

Listened to it 5 times already today. I think I'm going to write a paper on it for school tomorrow. This album makes my life and love of Radiohead so much easier.
