Default Clarifying The New Songs

New Songs: Organized by date of first appearance>alphabetical
New == no studio recording yet available. tf: gossamer==yes, zeitgeist==no, death from above==no

The linked versions are just the ones I thought would be the best off the top of my head, feel free to comment with better recommendations. I'm using the Payne shows for the most part cuz they're fucking sweet.

1) Gossamer
- played on: 05/22, 05/24, 05/26, 05/28, 06/02, 06/03, 06/05, 06/06, 06/09, 06/15, 06/19, 06/23, 06/24, 06/26, 06/30, 07/03, 07/05, 07/10, 07/15, 07/16, 07/18, 07/20, 07/24, 07/27, 07/30, 07/31

- setlists: 05/22, 05/24, 05/26, 05/28, 06/02, 06/03, 06-05, 06/06, 06-09, 06/15, 06/19, 06/23, 06/24, 06/26, 06/30, 07/03, 07/05, 07/10, 07/15, 07/16, 07/18, 07/20, 07/24, 07/27,

1. it appeared on the SP.com setlist as '?', then later as 'Question Mark'

2. setlist thing again.

3. The 'Ma belle' designation was incorrect. Some douche-bags thought he was singing 'ma belle' instead of 'mama'. It's a new song.

thanks for helping me out
i've edited the post to ******* these insights
do you know, since we've only got the official label of !, why 5) is named as such? Having not heard the song yet, I don't know if the 'name' we use now is just repeated phrasing or what?

yes, "if only in a dream" is repeated many times in the song. i guess people are using that because the names keep changing on the setlists anyway and it's an easier identifier for the song than "!".

i don't think Mama is Ma Belle. but it was a fair supposition at the time and the "some douchebags" comment was uncalled for. tsk.

understood. we try to keep things civil around here and perhaps sometimes we are overly sensitive. welcome to Netphoria, friend.

#5 was listed again as "!" on the 6/30 setlist.

52 Crows is part of the new ending to Gossamer from the last two shows. more of a jam than a full-fledged song like the others. recording here: http://www.archive.org/details/sp200...AKGck93.flac16

another bit of info:

'I'm Doing the Best I Can' will likely never again see the light of day... on account of it being a huge steaming turd.

I believe you missed "Promise Me." It was premiered at the 7/16 Fillmore show. It was Billy on acoustic with full band if I recall correctly. Jeff played some lead on his strat I think.

Have we 'heard' it anywhere before? or is it just ... not new in that it was written ages ago?
