He says that he ended up writing part of the theme song, which he describes as having "a little bit of an alternative rock edge, but it's still very pop-y."

The odd couple had fans scratching their heads last December after they were first spotted together in New York City.

Sources tell UsMagazine.com the two got romantic, but Corgan is playing coy.

"The stuff that I've seen doesn't have any bearing to the reality that I'm in," he tells the paper. "It's like being in a cartoon. It has nothing to do with what's really going on or how I feel."

In January, Simpson shared photos of a recording studio collaboration with the rocker via Twitter.

"I am blessed," she wrote, adding that it was "fun to be lost in laughter."
