Facebook Registration Confirmation: 24/11/2007.
Unregistered: within six months. (Must've been somewhere between 7 and 18 May 2008.)

They still know about me though. Two weeks ago, out of nowhere, after more than six years of silence, I received an email saying "Sorry you've been having trouble logging into your Facebook account. Get back on Facebook now." Wtf?

Also, I laughed at "having trouble logging into your account". Ahahahaha! Yeah, right. That's what happened.

I also deleted all my friends, posts, images and whatnot before deactivating my Facebook account. So hopefully there's not too much information from my old account left in the basements of Facebook.
It is kind of shocking though that after more than six years, they still care to contact me via email.

I have to keep Facebook mostly because it's how people at my school stay in touch. I don't use it to express myself or whatever, just the chat and the school Facebook groups. I happily block people on chat or unsubscribe from their posts when they're inevitably annoying or unfriend them if I don't need them.

I think it all has to do with moderation. I try (and do) post a lot less with my new account than I did with the old one. Plus, the whole deleting posts/pics after a week or less.

I do genuinely like to use it to have a stream of what all these people, who mean enough to me to be friends, are doing. It's a convenient all-in-one place to hear from bands, too.

But now I'm in a dumb band so I'll prob need to keep it at least to make events, contacts, etc. If I leave it up to my brother or the drummer, shit will never get promoted.

My news feed is pretty much just premier league/Manchester United news, onion articles, and the occasional story from alternet or mother jones or something. I like that, and I rarely post. I'm sure there's something better than can collect all the things I'm interested in but I'm lazy so whatever
