Did anybody tell Pakula that, aside from criminalizing DDoS attacks, the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act could conceivably allow him to seek damages for loss of potential donors as well as any costs incurred that he could probably get quite creative with in detailing?

It's not like it'd be any sort of struggle to track down the party responsible.

don't worry, Pak has the FBI on speed dial. he is on a first name basis with several special agents.

when i talked to the FBI back in 2008/2009 the special agent's name was adam malone. special agent adam malone. felt like i was in a cop movie. (for real, this happened)

for years afterwards when i would get put into psych hospitals stuff would come up and i'd end up telling people about this. as you can imagine, psychiatrists generally think you are crazy when you speak about talking to the FBI. they all acted like they believed me after i insisted this really happened but who knows. they saw me for like 5 minutes a day for 2 weeks. one of the times i spoke to the FBI was at a hospital so at least those docs could check my records.

i reported my ex-bf/captor originally on my own. and then when i went inpatient the first time, about 2-3 months later (april 2008), they were legally obligated to report him because he was (is) likely still an active predator. so they said they could do it or i could do it with them. so we called on speaker, and i talked to special agent adam malone. he called back about a week later and i talked to him some more. i had his direct phone number (cell phone I guess) and I called him a while later, maybe a year, and talked to him again. he told me someone else had reported the dude but that's all he knew about the case. basically nothing happened except if/when he gets caught, depending on the crime i might get called to testify or something. it had been too long when i called to actually get any kind of warrant
