Default Billy Corgan & dats

Fuck Monte for running Lucky 13 into the ground

Billy is sitting on hours of golden era, pristine quality soundboards, and not doing anything with them

who gives a fuck

seriously, I don't get it, what would be so interesting about listening to a bunch of (often not very well mixed) soundboard recordings of the same songs you've already listened to a hundred times?

Some people, get this, still actually like this band and would love to hear all the recordings they can. If they can listen to half the stuff up on archive, why not more soundboards?

Funny: you've just described with uncanny accuracy the exact sentiment that overwhelmed my heart moments after reading your post!

hahaha, well if it makes you happy I can't argue much about it.

regarding the topic though, I don't really see bill releasing that stuff, you can't market it because there's like 50 people at most who are willing to buy it.

If you go onto Reddit, you'll still see the odd person trying to build a collection or ask for recommendations, etc. While I wouldn't say Bill's music hit a level where it's going to be passed down through generations of rabid fans, you still do get the odd young whippersnapper who discovers the band. It's to Bill's advantage to put shit out for whoever else comes along and the several thousand kool-aid drinkers in the facebook groups who worship him like a living god. Not like he's going to go bankrupt.

It's comforting to think the thirty of us here in this section of the board are the only people remotely interested in SP anymore but it's just not true.

the facebook type fans will praise an actual crap he takes, though. better to get a recommendation from one who can rationally scrutinize, if you ask me.

all hail the netphoria SP section

What matters is that they'll buy it, though.

I really do wonder how many people on the planet actually consider themselves SP fans. Surely no more than 200,000 at this point. Enough to hawk crap to.

I'm sure if the original SMASHING PUMPKINS go on tour next year and they would release some pre-GISH recordings with it, they would easily sell more than MONUMENTS and OGILALA together...
