Thumbs up Tear - Live (San Paulo session) appreciation

I've finally got round to listening to the sprawling Adore 7cd boxset on spotify, and put on this excellent quality recording from the tour. It needs more love.

Does anyone have any other favourite versions from this tour, and is it worth actually buying the boxset for the liner notes etc?

There is cool stuff on the boxset, but none of it is live. And no, the liner notes are just standard billy-distortion narrative.

what are you talking about? the entire 6th disc is live

in any case, i think the whole San Paulo session is fantastic, at least the stuff represented on here. Disc 6 is prob my 2nd or at least 3rd most listened to part of the box, after Adore & (possibly) disc 4

I meant, that in my opinion, nothing live was that interesting to me (I know it contains live music, like his voice cracking during man-ape). I thought the new studio mixes/ out takes were more interesting.

I'm glad I bought the box set immediately when it came out five years ago.
Was the only time the release price was a bargain, with 45 Euro.
Now the box is getting rare and costs the double or even more.

I bought it from Amazon US for $60 and resold it for $80 or so. I got the amazon auto-rip so decided not to keep it...

First time I hear it. This is an amazing performance. Love the dynamics of it.

So is this live in the studio? Obviously Aronoff is on drums, Garson's masturbating, but is that James on right speaker guitar, D'Arcy on bass?

It's not my favorite performance of Tear, but the recording sounds great.

I never got around to buying the Adore reissue...maybe one of these years.
